"How was your first day back, baby?" I smiled at the sound of Nathans voice. I missed him so much, I wish he was here with me.

"It was fine, it would have been better if you were here though." I sighed, rolling over on the couch. I was finally back at my loft. All the cameras that Carter had put up were taken down, and my loft was now Carter free. It felt weird to be back, ever since I found out about everything I haven't felt at home here.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there, you know I wish I could have been."

"I know baby, when are you going to be back? What are you even doing up there?" I asked him. Everytime I asked him he always seemed to avoid the topic. There was a knock at the door and Jason walked in, he smiled at me and walked to the kitchen.

"I should be back tomorrow." He said flatly, not fully answering my question. I frowned, sitting up. The way his voice changed made me suspicious. He was clearly hiding something from me.

"What are you doing up there?" I repeated.

"Katherine." He sighed, I could picture him rolling his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Why? I'm your girlfriend, I have a right to know, Nathan." There was a bang in the background and Nathan cursed. I could hear another voice, it sounded like a female.

"Listen I have to go, i'll call you later. I love you, okay?" When I didn't say anything he sighed and hung up. I frowned and threw my phone on the couch beside me, getting up and walking to the kitchen where Jason was eating a sandwich.

"Hey Jason, why have I never seen Nathans mom before?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, he lives with his aunt, I know that, but why? Where does his mom live?" I didn't actually know much about Nathans family other than the fact that he lived with his aunt.

"His mom lives in Washington, shes a congress woman or some shit, i'm not really sure I just know she works in politics." Jason shrugged, "Nathan wanted to live with his aunt because he doesn't really get along with his mom, and plus shes usually always working so he never ever hears from her. I was surprised that she even came down to take him back up there, she hasn't seen him in a few years."

"So what are they doing in Washington?" I asked him, and he shrugged but didn't look at me. I knew he knew something, but I didn't ask further about it. I trust Nathan and I know he would never do anything to hurt me. Whatever he is doing up there he'll tell me when hes ready.

"Are you ready to go?" Jason asked me, washing his plate. I nodded and stood up, grabbing my phone. We were both going to the lake to meet up with Amber, the girls, Kyle, and Lucas. Nat was bringing Jen and we were all going to finally officially meet her. Kevin was going to be there too, which might get a little weird. We both walked down to the parking lot and got in his car.

"So hows your mom?" Jason asked me, glancing at me from the driver side. I sighed and leaned my head on the window, pursing my lips.

"Shes fine, I think. Shes with my aunt Gina in the Bahamas. They apparently needed a vacation." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "I'm the one that almost gets killed, but they need a vacation?"

"I'm sorry, Kat. Parents suck." He gave me a pity smile and nudged him.

"Not your mom, shes the best." I really envied him, his mom is the sweetest lady ever. "You know everyone in the group has some kind of parent trouble, except you. Your mom is literally all of our dream moms." I laughed, and he grinned.
