Reinvent Love

Thanksgiving break

The night before was really great. Ollie and Leo left around 10 pm and Me and Addy went to bed soon after. Something hit me today, Everyone would be leaving for thanksgiving break soon, that means that 1, Addy would be leaving, and 2, i'd have to spend a week with my father. I already started dreading the moment i'd get on the subway to go back home, and that dreadful moment i'd have to confront my father once again.

I woke up kind of early today. Addy woke up only a few minutes after I did.

" Hello lovely" Addy said as she moved the curtain.

" Hello" I said in a sing song voice. I was kinda surprised with the pet names already, really the only one who referred to me by them were, my parents. I crawled down the ladder, still in my pajamas. I brushed my teeth and then came back out. When I was with Addy, I wasn't so self conscious about what I looked liked, she made all the worries go away almost. I could even forget about my life at home when I was with her. I wasn't worried about my hair or my breath or my clothes, I was just with her, and that was the best part. I knew I was going to miss her so much. Even though it was a mere 7 days, With my family it would feel like eternity. Almost my entire family was messed up, besides some of my cousins. Addy came down as well and freshend up.

" Got any lectures today?" Addy asked.

" No and neither do you, it's the day before break" I responded in somewhat of a glum tone.

" Oh yeah, oh, yeah" She said the last words with a less happy tone than the first. " Oh no, i'm gonna have to leave you" A sudden look of worry flooded her body.

" It's only a week Addy, we can suffer through it, we'll face time each other every night and maybe we can make it go by quickly" I said, trying to sound like I wasn't so disappointed. Addy came closer to me and hugged me tight. "Lets make sure we keep in contact all the time" We swayed back and forth together. Addy pulled away and kissed me on the forehead. " Now come on, lets eat some breakfast, i'm quite hungry"

" Yeah same" I said.

" So what are you thinking this time?" She asked.

" Doughnuts?" I said in a happy voice.

" Ruby we've literally had doughnuts everyday for nearly a week"

" I'll take you to Dunkin doughnuts with me"

" I'll go get dressed" Addy scurried up the ladder and started throwing together an outfit.

" Awesome, well leave in about 10" I called to her. I too went up the ladder to get some actual clothes on. All i really did was change my pants and put a sweatshirt over my pajama shirt, then I climbed down and brushed my hair. Eh, presentable enough, I said to myself. I grabbed my keys and bag.

" Addy you ready?" I shouted.

" Yeah give me one second" Through the curtain I could see the silhouette of her doing something that can only be described as " The skinny jean dance" She came racing down the ladder and threw on some uggs. She went to the bathroom and brushed her hair a bit and floofed it with her hands, then She put her glasses on. "ready" she said. I opened the door and we walked down the hallway to the elevator and went down to the main floor. We walked out and were greeted with the cold air.

Many turns and crosswalks later we ended up at Dunkin Doughnuts. We walked in and cherished the heat.

" What do you think you'll be getting?" I asked.

" Probably a strawberry doughnut and a caramel iced coffee" Addy said, staring up at the menu. " You?"

" Yeah same except  i think i'll get the vanilla doughnut" I answered. It was our time to order. I said mine and then Addy said hers. we split the pay, got our stuff, and started walking back to the apartment.
