Reinvent Love

Day 2 in NYC

I woke up before Addy, the pale sun was cracking through the curtains. I laid there for a little while, enjoying Addy's presence. Her arm was around me and I had my head rested on her chest. She woke up a minute or two later.

" Good Morning sunshine" I said as I sat up. She adjusted her throat. "Morning Love"

" What's on the agenda list for today?" Addy asked me.

" Ice skating!" I exclaimed. I stood up and walked over to the window. Both of us braces ourselves as the light rushed in. The sky was grey and people already inhabited the streets. It must of snowed overnight. There was what I would say was about 2 or 3 inches of snow in the ground. Flakes were still falling from the sky. Today was going to be fun.

¨Do you even know how to ice skate?¨ I asked her.

¨I've been roller skating before but that's the closest I've gotten to it¨She answered.

I laughed. ¨You'll be having fun today¨

Addy smiled and stood up to join me by the window. She wrapped her arms around me and rested her head on my shoulder. Euphoria floated down my back like fog filling up a room. Sometimes I just can't take in what has happened in my life. I went from a girl in a happy family to a girl in a broken family with a abusive father and a dead druggie as a mother to a girl who fell in love with a girl who at first was just her roomate. And to think that was only in 18 years.

" So what time do you think you want to go?" Addy asked.

" What time is it now?" ok it's like 9 now so you think 11?" I said, looking over to the digital clock the hotel provided on the bedside table.

" Yeah that sounds good. We'll have time to get breakfast and everything" She said. She brought her hands back to her sides and sat down on the bed. " Wanna watch something for now?"

" Yeah sure" I said. I joined her on the bed and put my legs back under the blanket. She turned on the TV. some show came on and then Addy picked up her phone.

" Holy heck I can play youtube from my phone on the TV!" Addy said randomly. She started to play the episode of spooky week where dan and phil played little nightmares.

I laughed. " Holy heck, wow"

" There's no cursing in this christian household" Addy joked.

" We're both atheists" I said while laughing, a smile on my face.

" you don't know that, I could be a wholesome child of jesus" She said, she was laughing too.

" Ok then Addy" I felt like I couldn't breathe. We both caught our breath and then realized the TV was still playing.

" Oh no replay it" I said. Addy restarted it so we could 'properly' watch it. We sat through the 20 or so minutes of it. Although I had already watched it, I really loved the plot and concept and design of the whole thing. I'm in to dark things like that. When that was over we both got dressed and went down to the continental breakfast held downstairs.

Not many people were there, Only about 10 or so. They had a lot of things, juices waffles and bagels and more. I went for a waffle. I put the batter in the waffle cooker thingy and waited. a minute or so later it was done so I took it out and topped it with strawberries and whipped cream. Addy got a bagel with cream cheese and some fruit and we decided to go back to the room.

Upon entering the room again we were greeted by the warm air that seized to exist ever in the hallway. It seemed like that in many hotels, everything that wasn't a pool or hotel room was cold. Also it was winter, that contributed quite a bit.
