All lectures had to be canceled today due to the heavy snow storm. I was disappointed, of course the day we were supposed to start building our room was the day the biggest nor'easter in the past 3 years hit. The snow was falling down so hard you couldn't see more than 6 inches away from your face. At least we prepared for this by getting a bunch of water in case the power went out and we stocked up on food. The apartment was cold but we tried our best to fight that off with blankets and carters hot water bottle, which we took 30 minute shifts of using. Luckily for me Addy and I were cuddled up together most of the time so it was like we each got an hour. We were all sat down on the couch watching adventure time.

" It's weird how we're all nearly adults and we're watching a child's show" Carter said. He was right, I was 18, Addy was 19 and he was 17, nearly 18 as well.

" kids show or not its heckin amusing" Addy said with a fake defensive tone. Her fingers carded through my hair. it was severely messed up but i really didn't care. I gave a small laugh, my head still buried in her side. then, a huge gust of wind blew. the lights flickered, and the fridge made a sad defeated powering down noise. The TV screen went black and all the lights shut off. The power went out.

" Agh come on!" Carter whined.

" Wait, what happens when the power goes out here Addy?" I asked, now sitting up straight.

" If the power doesn't come on within 12 hours they put the generator on." She said, disappointment in her voice.

" Well what do you guys want to do now?" Carter asked.

" I don't know, you think going around asking questions is fun?" I said. That's what i used to do with friends when I had them in school.

" Sure why not" Addy said. " I guess i'll go first. so, When's everyone's birthdays?" She asked. As I thought of it, I don't think we ever really discussed birthdays.

" Mines February 4th" Carter said.

" I'm July 12th" I said

" my birthdays May 16th" Addy said.

" Oh wow Carter your birthdays coming soon" Addy said.

" I know it really is. I'm going to be a legal Adult!" He said excitedly. We all gave small laughs.

" I'll go next, what instrument did you play in school band?" Carter asked.

" I played flute" I said

" I played trombone" Addy said.

" Wow Addy I cannot see you playing trombone" Carter said. I agreed.

" When I first started it was taller than me" She said with a laugh. I could just imagine little Addy with her trombone standing taller than her.

" I played saxophone" Carter said.

" I guess i'll go next, Why were you named what you were named?" I asked.

" My parents thought Adeline sounded really pretty, they wanted to call me Adele as a nickname but that didn't really stick" Addy said. " I used to not like it cause everyone would spell it wrong when I was young but now I like it because my spelling skills have improved." I smiled, her explanation making me giggle a bit.

" well i mean I kinda picked out the name Carter with the help of Ruby but with my dead name my mother had that kind of tree outside of her childhood home and she would always climb on it and it was like her haven" Carter explained. I never knew that about him.

" Carter you don't have to answer if you don't want to but may I please ask, what was your dead name?" Addy asked with a curious yet sympathetic tone.
