Reinvent Love

I had a lot of trouble sleeping that night. My first lecture was the next day at 11:00 and I was kinda nervous. I had no friends here, no idea who any of the professers were, and no experience. College is scary. 

I woke up to hear the sizzleing of bacon from downstairs. Adiline was making breakfast. She must of heard my alarm clock because she looked up and said, "morning Ruby, you like bacon?"

"Uh, yeah", I said in a groggy voice. 

"Awesome", She said. 

I got dressed and climbed down the ladder. Immediatly I went to the bathroom to freshen up because I was really self concious of what I looked like all the time. Adiline had it easy, her floofy curls didn't take much effort to look great.  My hair was only just above my shoulders, but still, lots more work than hers. I put on my glasses and fixed my hair as quickly as possible so I could be with Adiline sooner. I got out and joined her in the kitchen. 

"Want me to start on pancakes or something?" I asked.

"Nah lets just have cereal or something quick like that, I have a lecture in an hour", Adiine said. 

"Okay"

I got out a box of lucky charms and poured two bowls of it. Then I added milk to mine.

"You want milk?" I asked her.

"Sure"

I then poured the milk and got spoons for the both of us. I brought both dishes to the coffee table where we would eat. Adiline soon followed with a plate of bacon. 

"So what do you want to watch?" She asked me

"I don't know, what about something on Crunchy Roll", I said.

"attack on titan?" 

"Heck yeah"

I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV,  then putting the anime on. We ate and talked for a while until it was time for Adiline to go. 

"Oh my god it's already 9:50, I have to get going soon", Adiline said. She grabbed her bag and got going, ruffling her hair in the process. I heard the door close as she left and then I went to the loft to grab my ukulele. I was too shy to just start playing it in front of her considering I had just met her so I waited until she left. I played around with it bit making sure It was in tune, Then I started to play a song. 

"She's the tear in my heart, I'm Alive, She's the tear in my heart, I'm on fire," I sang. 

A few minutes into playing and I didn't even realize the door opened again. It was Adiline. 

"Uh, hey I just realized I forgot my keys", She said interupting me. I looked up and immediatly had a look of fear on my face. 

"Oh hey sorry I thought you were gone already", I said embarrased.

"You sound good, maybe you could play me a song some time", She said smiling. 

Before I could stutter out an answer she was out the door and on her way to the lecture. I put my ukulele back, having enough for the time being. I grabbed my lap top and watched some youtube. Soon It was time to go to my lecture. This one was for english.  I grabbed my stuff and locked the door on my way out. I got a little lost on my way there, but I made it. I picked a seat In the back and put my stuff under my chair. Eventually, A man with dark brown hair and a beard walked in. 

"Hello, I'm professer Magnetico", The man said. "To know a little bit about me, I'm 42, Have a wife and 3 kids, and this is my 9th year as a professer here. Because today is your first day, I thought we could start with going over grammer rules."He grabbed a piece of chalk and started wrting down a bunch of things while the students took notes.  

After the lecture, I was finally free to go back to the apartment. When I walked in Adiline was sitting on the couch watching riverdale. 

"Hey you like riverdale too?" I said. 

"Yeah, we have so much in common", She answered. I sat down on the couch with her as she paused the TV. 

"So how was your lecture?" I asked.

" It was pretty boring, All we did was go over the color wheel and such", she told me. "What about yours?"

"We just did some grammer stuff"

"Oh hey I have an idea", Adline said

"What is it?" I asked.

"Do you want to make cookies with me?" She said. "I thought about doing this and I thought id be weird to do alone considering your here so yeah..." She played with her fingers as she explained herself. It was weird how she could go from being so confident to so awkward like it was an on and off switch.

"Yeah sure"

We made our way to the kitchen and started to get out everything we'd need. luckily Adiline got all of these things while out grocery shopping.  

"Okay so the thing says we need two cups of flour and then a teaspoon of salt", Adiline said. I helped her measure out the ingredients and soon the dough was ready. Then we plopped the dough onto a baking sheet and put them in the oven. Nine minutes later and they were ready. They made the apartment smell so good. I took them out to let them cool. Adiline reached out to grab one but the  baking sheet was still very hot.

"Ouch!" She yelped. 

I let out a small laugh, "patience child"

"Dude I'm older than you", Adiline said.

"Did you just assume my gender?" 

We both laughed and soon the cookies were cooled. We each grabbed one and a nice glass of milk, me only taking half a glass.

"Want to continue watching Riverdale with me?" She asked. 

"Okay", I said. 

She put the TV  back on and restarted the episode she was on. 

"Cheryl needs to get the fuck away from Archie", I said. Adiline almost choked on a cookie laughing. "I know right!"

Soon both of us were fast asleep on the couch.
