I went to see one of Portsmouth's local pantomimes this year. It was 'Snow White'. Although I did enjoy it, I also felt a bit like the odd one out because I didn't feel like interacting with the show in the same way that the screaming children all around me did. There was singing in the show, with material from Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson, Bruno Mars, and Jess Glynne. The actors were very enthusiastic and made the show all the more enjoyable.
The show starred Melinda Messenger as Fairy Sparkle, and I did think it was worth going to see as a live experience, but I'm not sure if I will bother to go to the pantomime again next year, as I didn't feel like participating and also felt that I was not necessarily part of the main demographic that the show was trying to please.
