Looking back, November was a great month. It was the month I started volunteering at the Mary Rose Museum, and I have made a lot of new friends in the volunteers that are in on the day, Saturday, that I volunteer on. I learn a lot when I'm there and I am really enjoying it.
The Gunwharf Quays fireworks were brilliantly colourful. There was an electric atmosphere in the air, and I will not soon forget the great pop music performances delivered on the night by Matt Terry and Nadine Coyle, as well as the fact that I saw my face up on the big screen.
Attending the Portsmouth Christmas Market was another instance where I felt part of a joyous atmosphere. The vendors were selling a range of seasonal edible and material goods, and the mixture of smells and music in the air was tantalising.
The highlight of November for me was the USA Summer Camps presentation that I attended. It put my mind at rest that, although it will take longer for me to plan, it will be possible for me to go and work for a summer at a camp in America. I am currently saving up and hope to apply to travel across the Atlantic and work the summer 2019, and inevitably have an amazing time while doing so.
'Justice League' was an amazing film and it was made all the more exciting by the fact that it was the first film I went to see midnight. It felt like a privilege to be one of the first people in the UK to see it, and for me, there was also the fact that I felt proud to see Henry Cavill, who also hails from my home island, Jersey, portray Superman on the big screen once again.
It was also interesting to be part of the Employability and Enterprise group meeting that in part conceived the first ever employability day for the School of Humanities and Social Science, which I am, a part of, which I will hopefully attend as a Course Representative. The event will take place in January.
I enjoyed November and cannot wait to see what surprises December brings me.
