Learning from and applying the skills I learned from the making toast session of 'Meals on Wheels', I decided one day to attempt to make and prepare my own piece of toast unaided, and I feel like I succeed.
I got off to a rocky start when I got a piece of bread out of the pack, which was easy enough, but then I found myself, after putting it in the toaster, pushing the bread down several times with it coming back up again. It was only after several tries that I realised it wasn't working because the socket to which the toaster was plugged in, was switched off. After switching it on, I was able to get the toaster working, and to get the piece of bread cooking. While I was waiting for it to pop back up,  I received some spread from the cupboard, which just so happened to be a Cadbury Crunchie spread that I had bought earlier in the day, to try it because I do like Cadbury Chrunchies A lot. After moving the hot piece of toast carefully from the toaster to the plate, and the plate over to the table, I retrieved a knife and started to spread the chocolate honeycomb spread on the piece of toast. There is quite a technique to this, with a part of the knife, having to face the the bread, to make the friction between the two easier to push through, I found this quite difficult but with practice I know I will improve. Finally, are used the Schachar to be nice to cut toast up before eating it in parts, I enjoyed it very much especially because it was infused with the taste of a Cadburys Crunchie.
Overall, I am pleased with my effort and the result, and this was the first indication to me that I am learning, and the lessons that I am learning, I am retaining, for use in situations such as this. As ever, I thank my friends for teaching me the skills in the first place. Both my group of friends and the skills they teach me are invaluable to me.
