I'm just your ordinary girl-next-door with very ordinary looks and ordinary grades in school. My parents aren't any rich businessmen or entrpreneurs; my siblings are nobody spectacular as well. We are just an ordinary family. If you'd have noticed how many times I've used the word 'ordinary', you should have noted that I literally meant it. Well, that's how the school taught it, isn't it? If a certain word is being emphasized over and over again, you need to take note of it.

Guess I had made my point.

In the year 2013, I was in my second year of college majoring in Theatre. In my second semester, our so-called beloved Professior See, one of the renown academic professionals in the world of Theatre and Arts (he was also the President of the National Arts Council) offered us students an opportunity to widen our knowledge. I was one of the first to sign up. I've always looking out for opportunities to travel out of my country. Since my parents were just simple office people, we didn't have too much excess cash to travel far especially for the entire family of six.

There were a couple of options to choose from - Paris, California, Tokyo, Seoul, London and Dublin. The most sensible souls opted for London or California where Hollywood was, and of course the greatest stars in the Century like Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman or even Angelina Jodie. But I had to consider my own expenses too. Even though accommodation would be provided for as well as daily allowance, I had to chip out my own plane ticket. I figured I couldn't pay anything further than Asia. Since Korea was the upcoming industry and I knew more names of the Korean stars as compared to the Japanese, I signed up for Seoul.

It turned out I was the only one going to Seoul, not that there were many of us selected (only ten of us in total going out). To my surprise, not many signed up. I was hoping there would be someone to go with me as company but oh well, I wouldn't die being on my own either. I took some crash course in the korean language since you couldn't survive a day in Korea without understanding their language; packed up my bag for a six-month stay, said my good-byes and left on my favourite budget airline - to Seoul, where my life would never be the same again.
