Chapter Thirty - Why doesn't London seem appealing anymore...?

Finally, our show in Korea came to an end as well, marking the end to our one-year travelling debut around the world. When the curtains closed for the final scene, the crew went up in cheers. I knew many of them were looking forward to go home to their families. People were already talking about it since we landed in Seoul. Spirits were high and that was why the shows in Korea were probably our best effort amongst the other countries.

I hated to leave. Because once again, I found myself settling down nicely in Korea and I was beginning to enjoy it. There was nothing awaiting me in London. Except for my flat mates perhaps. And leaving Korea meant that the time zone was going to make it difficult for me to communicate with Min-ho.

We had been texting each other regularly. He would share with me the funny things that went on during filming or some of the frustrations he had. He was a perfectionist when it came to work so he had very high expectations of himself. It wasn't common for a Korean to tell you about his or her frustrations and complaints unless you were a very close friend. Sometimes, they didn't even tell it to their own family members. Well, Min-ho and I could say to be very good friends, I would say. We had no issue telling each other things. But so far, the only thing we didn't touch on was relationship. I never asked him about girls nor he with me, though he did teased me once about Shane.

Talking about Shane, he never did discussed with me about his affections ever since that drunk confession. I doubted he even remembered what he said to me. And I didn't reminded him of it. I didn't wanted to anyway.

We returned to London just at the start of autumn where the leaves were turning auburn. It was a nice sight as always. Since we had worked hard for the last one year, we were granted a month's leave before rehearsals would resume. Nobody asked what the next project would be. That was a question to be answered when we return from our well-deserved vacation. It would also then be a time for contract renewals and negotiation, including mine. I wasn't that worried if my contract would not be renewed. I could always join another troupe if I wanted to. Or go home.

I took a week to travel to Scotland. Since I came to London, I hadn't had the opportunity to visit Scotland which was so nearby. Shane had gone visiting his relatives in Canada and would not be back till the end of vacation. It was really rather lonely without him.

I spent my free days museums hopping, cycling into the country side and visiting the places which I hadn't been too. It was pretty boring considering that there was no purpose or target to archieve. Sometimes I would go to the gym or the pool but that was only when I felt like it. The excitement which I once felt for London had lost its spark. Suddenly, it didn't feel as appealing as before. Even my flat mates were rarely home to talk to.

Maine came up to London on my final week of vacation. Thank goodness... But we only managed a cup of tea during one of her free evenings.

"So, what's your plan?" she asked casually.

I shrugged. "I don't know. See if the troupe will offer me another two-years contract."
