Chapter Thirty Two - An unexpected news

"This is so cheesy!" I couldn't help laughing out loud.

Shane and I were out on a fine Saturday, just like any other couple. Out on a date. It felt really strange because I was so used to going out with Shane - to the musuems, to lunches, to dinners, even to his house for Christmas party. But an official date? Well, psychologically, it was different. In your mind, you just knew something was different.

"What's cheesy?" he grinned. We were each holding a corney dog which was really rare but there happened to just be a stall set up by the riverbank for it, just for today. I wondered if he had arranged it.

"So, what are we going to do today?" I asked teasingly. I wondered what he had lined up.

"We are going up the London eye!" he declared excitedly. "And then, we'll go for a cruise."

"Just like tourists," I chuckled. You wouldn't believe if I told you I hadn't been up on the London eye nor taken a cruise since I came to London. I wasn't a fan for heights nor a water person. And no one actually offer to take me up. I didn't reckon I would enjoy going up on my own. It was just too lonely.

"Just like tourists," he grinned in return.

"You sure it's safe?" I asked. "I don't exactly like heights... Back home, there was once this big wheel got some short circuit and it stopped in mid air for hours! I would die if I was up there..."

"Are you serious?" he asked in surprise. "For hours? Oh god, what if those people needed the lavatory?"

"I read that they had to do it into a bottle... well... I'm not sure how the women survived it... but then again, women have stronger bladders..." I joked.

"Do they?" I shrugged. He took the empty stick from me and threw it into a nearby bin. "Let's go!" Grabbing my hand, we walked up hand-in-hand just like any other couple.

"Enjoy your ride!" the attendant greeted politely as we stepped into an empty capsule. We were fortunate to get one all to ourselves.

"Thank you!" Shane grinned. "This is our first date!" He couldn't help saying and I blushed as I rolled my eyes at him.

The attendant chuckled in return. "Well, congratulations to you. Enjoy your first date then!"

"Why do you have to go telling him that?" I scolded after the door had been closed and we up along into the air.
