It was only February but the weather was hot and humid like anything. And the haze from neighbouring Indonesia wasn't helping. It only made the air less breathable.

It had been two months since I returned from Korea. The first striking difference as soon as the plane landed in Singapore was the marking difference in the temperature. I could literally feel the heat emitting from the ground just by looking at it. I missed seeing the white puffy snow lying on the ground wherever I went. Because I knew I was going to arrive in a hot and humid climate, I had fortunately dressed myself well for that condition. I had looked pretty naked back in the Incheon airport where I had on only a long-sleeved blouse and jeans while everyone else had on furry coats and shawls. I had packed everything into the suitcase at Min-ho's place while wearing only his red oversized fleece jacket and returned it to him when I left. Everybody did gave me funny looks and perhaps was wondering why on earth this silly girl was walking around so naked. But once we arrived at Singapore, hah, I fitted in perfectly. And those people in their coats and mittens looked pretty ridiculous.

I did what he had instructed me to do. I called him as soon as the plane landed and my phone received its signal. Instead of calling my family, I had called him. It was past midnight Korea time when I arrived but he had told me to call regardless what time it was. And so I did.

As soon as I had stepped through those immigration gates at the Incheon airport, my heart immediately felt terrible. It was as if someone had ripped out my heart and tore it into pieces. It was so painful that I could hardly breathe. I felt so much heartache that I could hardly cry it out. I had never felt like this before. Okay, perhaps once... when I broke up with my previous boyfriend. It had felt terrible too. I couldn't eat or sleep for weeks.

It felt so comforting to be able to hear his voice but at the same time, sad because I could not see or feel him.

"Arrived?" he sounded alert, as if he had been waiting anxiously for my phone call.

"Yes," I answered. "I missed you already."

"Me too," he said sadly. "I am regretting not bringing you back and lock you in my house."

I couldn't help chuckling. "I miss the winter. It's super hot here."

"You like the cold?" he sounded amazed as if I was telling a joke.

"Loved it," I replied. "I wish it would snow here."

"You'll hate it," he said. "Is your family picking you up?"

"I think so." I was waiting for my luggage to arrive from the baggage collection area. Then I saw it. My red American Tourister. I pulled it off the belt and pulled up the handle. As I headed to the exit, I saw my second older brother looking out for me anxiously. "I saw my brother." He saw me and waved excitedly.

"Okay, you better go," he said. "I'll call you again, maybe tomorrow."
