Filming went on every day for the next three weeks. Even though it was fun filming with Director Kim and the cast, it was nothing like back in those days of The Heirs.
Unlike Director Kang, Director Kim was less stern and fierce on site. He was always joking and making fun of their mistakes. Even though it helped lighten the tense atmosphere and the foreboding stress of overnight filming (because this drama was running late and Ji-hyo was schedule-packed with Running Man), I much preferred Director Kang's style of straightforwardness. At least, it got things done fast.
The response towards my programme was alarmingly overwhelming. Thanks to the "advertising" of the hosts of various variety shows. People were interested to know more about this non-korean star who looked 'pretty' and 'adorable', thanks to Bae's image makeover. He had practically revamped my entire wardrobe so much so that my old clothes were all gone and recycled. Even right down to my pyjamas. Not only was the show popular in Korea, it was also popular outside of Korea. And as Seo-jin had predicted, I had my old friends calling me up too.
Overnight, I had a Twitter account, a Line account, a blog, a Facebook account - all managed by Seo-Jin. He was really one amazing guy. Not only was he tech-savvy, he was absolutely good with the media. He kept them way out of my path. Ever since the first episode, he accompanied me wherever I went, except on film site.
I was starting to miss out on the little things which I used to enjoy. Like grocery shopping. I began to fully understand the full extent of being a korean celebrity. And I was beginning to understand Min-ho's woes and difficulties. But he did a great job. Perhaps he really loved what he enjoyed doing. Hence it was not bothering me.
I was getting all nostalgic again one day on site, thinking about the days in The Heirs and how I used to hid in Min-ho's caravan when Ji-Hyo came up to me. We had became fast friends on site, partly because we were both females and she was really a very friendly person - a female version of Min-Ho, I would say.
"Director Kim seemed to be intimidated by you," she joked as she rested on the bench beside me. Earlier, I had a 'discussion' with Director Kim over some of the technicalities of camera angles. Of course, he was the main director for this drama so he had the final say. But I thought I could make some contributions into it.
"Please don't say that!" I stared at her wide-eyed. "I didn't mean to be disrespectful. I just thought it could be done in another way."
She chuckled. "Of course. It's just that he had nobody to offer ideas, last time. It was probably his first time."
"I see..."
"Looks like you are getting quite some attention these days," she teased. It wasn't those kind of mean spite remarks. She was honestly kidding me.
"Yes, and it is scary," I admitted.
