Nishant's hand froze in mid-air the moment her voice echoed in the room. Slowly she moved from within the shadowed darkness and he stood there watching in spellbinding silence.
Aparna's heart thudded with renewed energy as she came near him slowly.
The more she stepped forward, the more his heart skipped beats. By the time she was completely in front, he was almost out of breath.
Till now, she had only seen the emotional scars of his but as he stood completely bare, she saw his physical wounds, which may have healed but still, they reminded him of all that had happened.
Slowly she raised her hand to the one near the shoulder and softly touched it. And, instantly his body jerked involuntarily. She slowly traced its dark outline and Nishant closed his eyes letting her touch heal the long felt pain inside him.
Aparna watched him and suddenly remembered all her hurting words that night and her hand fell away. Slowly she backed away from him as she started to remember the news flashes.
Nishant looked at her face, which had suddenly become white as a sheet. As her body trembled, he closed the distance between them and clutched her face in his palms.
"What if something had happened to you?" she stammered looking at him.
"Shhhh!" I am standing right in front of you. I didn't die and it's all because of you."
She looked at him questioningly and he told her how he had stepped forward to retrieve her photograph and then how the debris had washed him along with everything else.
"If I hadn't stretched to pick your photograph, the rocks would have fallen on my head and I would have been dead by now."
Aparna instantly placed her hand on his mouth not willing to listen anymore.
The moment her palm touched his lips, everything bombed inside him and immediately he let her go.
"Has Prakriti slept?" he asked as he moved away a little.
Aparna looked at him not quite understanding his hesitation. Then she remembered what Harish had said.
Come on, Aparna, he needs to know.
"Nishant!" she called out.
"Hmm?"
"There's something that you should know."
The sudden and strange tone of her voice alerted him and he looked at her questioningly.
Slowly she walked to him and took his hand in hers and took a deep breath.
"Every time I went off to sleep, it was always in your arms. Every time I breathed, you were in me. Every moment I was away from you, I dreamt of being with you. I hugged myself and wanted to feel your arms. Even though you were not there with me, you were still everywhere. Everything around me was filled with you."
For a moment, Nishant was stunned. He stared with his eyes conveying nothing and then suddenly every little word of hers filtered inside him slowly and their magic spread to his every core.
"You know that day when we were coming from Kasol, I saw us together at every nook and corner. Every sunbeam had your smile. Every mountain had your face."
Aparna let go his hand and palmed his face.
"Nishant, I am bound to you and I am not scared to love you anymore. Even though I went away from you but I couldn't force you out of me."
Everything inside him just erupted with the emotions in her voice. He grabbed her and pulled her towards him. And, the moment her body collided with his, the age-old passion in him just exploded.
As she looked up at him with the intoxicating eyes, Nishant was lost. His senses refused to function at all. All he could do was, stare in them and after a long time saw himself. Although his heartbeat was galloping at top speed, his brain refused to break the eye contact.
But suddenly his eyes fell on the darkened bruised mark all around her throat and he involuntarily touched it. As he traced it, he didn't need any explanations. He reached right at the end and his blood boiled with anger at first and then with the most primitive emotion of making her feel like a woman again.
He tipped her chin and lowered his mouth to her throat. Slowly he grazed his lips on the mark and then came out his tongue, which traced the outline trying to take away the pain.
At first, Aparna did not respond to his soothing touch for she wanted to fill her soul with it. But as his tongue started to taste her raw skin, she clutched his shoulder with effort.
He slowly placed small and tender kisses on the chin and then on the cheeks all the while pushing her slowly towards the wall.
The moment her back collided with the wall, he pushed her hand way up in the air and fused his lips to hers.
Grazing, teasing, licking, biting, they kissed each other and their hunger increased with every little touch.
Finally, he let go of her arms and she wound them around his neck and fused her body to his. Her tender and soft breasts touched his naked skin and he whimpered deepening the kiss.
Tongues sliding, lips nibbling, they tasted each other.
Aparna was already out of breath but she was not willing to let go of his sweet mouth.
Nishant bit on her lower lip and pulled it between his and again his tongue plunged inside. And, the more he tasted all corners of hers, the hungrier he got. She was about to let go when he pulled her lips again and she moaned giving in to the temptation.
The moment she kissed him with all the passion burning inside her, he groaned hard and pulled her more into him.
Nishant's senses were completely haywire. His brain refused to believe that she was in his arms. Just one night ago, he was agonising on not seeing her ever again and now she was here, in his arms kissing him like no tomorrow.
He was thinking all these things when suddenly he felt her hand undoing the towel.
