Michael took me to his room. Yeah, I know how unsafe that sounds, but I already promised to help, so? His room was neat, that I expected. In the middle of his room was a giant sized bed and by the sides were shelves containing books.

"Why not get settled on that chair over there while I go get the documents."

I nodded and walked towards the chair that was by the window. When I sat, I noticed that he was staring at me. His hands were in his pant pockets and his head was bent to one side as if he was scrutinizing me. I shifted uncomfortably on my seat and swallowed hard.

"Princess?"

My head shot up immediately in response. I was actually responding, shit! When did I even start bearing the name Princess?

"Do you prefer the bed? Maybe the chair is uncomfortable."

I laughed. What the hell was he talking about? Me, on his bed? That was so shocking to hear from him. "No, thank you for the offer. This chair is madly comfortable."

He nodded. "Feel free to ask for anything you need, princess."

I watched him as he turned around to pick up a bag- probably the one that had the documents. I quickly breathed in and out, trying to put my breathing under control.

He walked towards me with some documents, pulling a chair along with him. He placed the chair very very close to mine, sat down and looked at me, in the eye.

I gulped. I hadn't even started and the situation was already getting out of hand. "Huh...Michael, the...huh..."

"Baby..."

I filled my fists with my clothes and stared at him. It was as if my voice box had been locked, the key thrown away.

"Did you think of what I told you, sweetheart?"

How could I think? He told me that few hours ago, so, what was he saying? I noticed him shift closer. Wait, what? Okay, I had to leave now, promises or no promises. I tried to but it appeared as if my butt had been glued down to the chair.

"I don't know how this started. I even thought I was crazy. I just met you a few days ago and my heart is making these flops just by your presence. I thought I could bottle it all up, keep my craziness to myself, but that almost killed me. I mean, you are making me lose my mind, baby."

My heart began to beat hard against my chest. This was my first time experiencing something like this, so you can imagine the shock I was going through. "I...huh...you...I don't understand, Michael."

He cupped my cheek with his hand and moved closer, dangerously close. I thought I came to sort out documents, so what was happening now? "I... I need to leave now, please."

"Honey, I don't really like that I am making you feel uncomfortable. It's just that my heart is shredding. Your voice is just like-"

"Please, stop", I said. If he continued talking, I knew I would just accept him. I didn't like it when people begged me continuously for something. It made me feel as if I was punishing them.

He nodded and removed his hand from my cheek. I sighed in relief. "So, you...huh... want to... huh...date me?"

He nodded and smiled warmly. "Yes, pretty. Give me this chance."

I finally got up from my chair. Trust me, that was hard. "I'm sorry. I can't do this." I couldn't just wait to see his face. I knew how hurt he would be and I didn't want to see that. I ran to the door.

"Baby, wait." I hurriedly opened the door and dashed out only to collide into something hard and firm. I closed my eyes in anger. Was I becoming blind? I did a lot of bumping these days.
