Mike's POV

My heart raced fast as I waited for her response. Already, I was affected by her proximity. Everything on her face made me really anxious. Her eyes, nose, lips, hair, everything.

She looked shocked, very shocked. I neared my face closer to hers and forced a smile. I knew my closeness was affecting her too and I liked that.

"Go on", I said, raising an eyebrow at her. Our faces were just inches away now. Her chest rose and fell heavily and her lips quivered.

Suddenly, she grabbed by shirt and held onto it as if her life depended on it. I put my arms around her waist to steady her. "Are you okay?"

"It's time for practice not this, guys."

I jumped and removed my hands from her waist. I watched as she stumbled and just as I reached out for her, I felt a blow on my cheek. I lost balance and stumbled.

I looked up slowly to see the idiot that did that. Michael was glaring at me and was about to raise his hands again when Scott stopped him.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Scott shouted.

I straightened up and chuckled dryly. "What are you doing here?"

He reached out for me again, but Scott  held him in place. "Leave me, leave me. Let me deal with this son of--"

I laughed. "Michael, mind your business. You have no--"

"Please, shut up."

I froze. She just told me to shut up.

Micheal shrugged off Scott's hand and went to her. "So, it's him?"

She looked at me for a while then back at him. "Look, I'm not in for this. Let's talk later." She waved her hand in front of his face and sat.

"You think this is a joke? Why did you agree then to this? Why?" he yelled.

I laughed again. "Please, leave here. You are a nuisance right now." I folded my arms across my chest and raised an eyebrow when he looked at me. "What are you still waiting for?"

He nodded and stormed out of the room. Okay, I didn't expect him to retreat so easily. When he left, Thomas came to me with a deep frown etched on his face. "Stop trying to steal another man's girl."

My eyes widened. What did he just say? No, scratch that. Did he just talk to me that way? I watched in shock as he left my side. What the hell was going on? What did he even know that was going on to say such nonsense?

"I have a date with Elsa. So, please, let's make this snappy", Scott said while he glared at me.

I nodded. To hell with their thoughts. "I'll take my time however I want. However before we begin, get rid of the glares on your faces. We'll achieve nothing that way."

Thomas laughed. "It's gone now, shall we?"

I rolled my eyes. "Good. Too bad elf has not being around much. I have not been able to come up with the second aspect of the song." I shot a look at her, expecting her to respond to what I just said.

She just stared at me, her face expressionless. I frowned and looked away. I wasn't used to the quiet elf. "Let's start. I'll sing. You two", I said looking at Scott and Thomas, "should handle the instruments. Elf, you watch."

She nodded. Wait, she nodded! You didn't get that?
I'm telling you she nodded!
I expected her to scream at me.

I frowned again and grabbed the manuscript.
"Okay. Here I go."

I swallowed. "Okay, Scott, the beat."

Scott nodded, grabbed the drum sticks and started the beat. It was a slow song, so the beat had to be slow.
"Faster, Scott. The song is not that slow. Follow this." I clapped my hands in a particular rhythm and tapped my foot too. "Yeah, like that."

*******
After three hours of practice, I dismissed them. Scott left immediately while Thomas said something to her before leaving.

I dropped the manuscript and stared at her. She didn't make any move to leave. She just sat there, staring at the floor. I walked towards her, grabbed a chair and sat.

"Hey."

She looked up slowly and frowned.

"You aren't leaving?"

She frowned deeper. "Look, dude, I'm not in the mood to talk to you. Leave now."

"Not until you answer my question."

"Which is?"

I chuckled. "Don't play dumb with me,  elf. Do you like me?"

Her breathing increased rapidly. "W-what?"

"You do?" I said, nearing my face to hers.

She coughed. "Please, stop. You like Gold, so why are you asking me this? Stop playing with me!"

A smile curved my lips. Did that mean that she did like me? "I never showed you Gold, did I?"

"So what does that freaking mean? Please, stop already."

"It means Gold could be you."
