The wind lifted my hair and tossed it about my face. I hastily pushed it away from my face and looked at the guy in front of me. He was gazing at me as if I was a jewel of very high value and that made me really anxious.

What was he going to tell me?

"Tell me."

He ran his fingers through his hair again. Already, he had caused it to get tousled. I had to clench my fists so as not to reach out to smoothen the tufts of hair back.

"Ten?"

His face darted to mine instantly. He then moved three steps towards me, well, enough to have him only inches away. "Gold."

"Yes. That's why we are here."

"Not just Gold, elf. You are my Gold."

I froze. That meant a whole lot of things now. My feet began to shake uncontrollably. I think everything hit me hard then like a truck. I swallowed hard. "Mike, you don't mean what I think you mean, right?"

The emotions that were threatening to explode were now on the verge of accomplishing their mission. All he had to do was confirm my thoughts.

He placed his hands on my shoulders and drew me closer to him. "Depends on what it is you are thinking."

My lips quivered. "Tell me now, chicken!"

"Good."

I grasped the edges of his shirt and tugged. "Tell me."

"Do you hate me?"

I tugged harder. "Yes. I hate you so much that it hurts. Say whatever it is you brought me to a rooftop for. Now!"

He hugged me tightly. "You know why. I can see that."

I rested my head on his chest. "Tell me. I'm not sure."

"I think I have been captivated by you."

I scoffed and pulled away from his grasp. "You think?"

He shrugged. "What do you think about what I just said?"

"I think you have a problem with your sense of reasoning."

His hands cupped my cheeks. "Why?"

"You think you are captivated by me? That's the reason why you call me that name?"

"Is that bad?"

"Yes, it is. Everything about it is. You even have the guts to tell me you think!"

"Gold."

"Leave me alone!"

He pulled me into another hug. "Okay, fine. You...huh..."

"Go on. You what?" Why was I even encouraging him to go on?

"You have me captured."

Why couldn't he speak in simple terms? Why couldn't he just say what every other normal guy would say? "I'm not someone that puts other people in bondage."

He chuckled. "You are beautiful."

"Thank you for the compliment."

He hugged me tighter. "I like everything about you."

I fought the urge to pull back and kick him hard. "So?"

He wrapped his arms around me tightly, almost squeezing me. "I am honestly sorry that I don't have a special way of letting you know of my feelings."

This time, I pulled back and gave him that kick I had envisioned in my head.  He winced and bent down to rub the spot. "Then you shouldn't have brought me all the way here. I have to prove myself to the world that I didn't do what I was accused of, but you dare bring me here to waste my time?"
