Tyreese grabbed my hand and we booked it. Tyreese was practically dragging me. Its hard to run in wedges.
We finally stopped in the spot where we left everybody else. They all noticed how sweaty we both were. Yael didn't seem to care...what was up his butt?
"Oh, what have you two been doin?" Tyler asked clearly still high on acid.
"You know what, otherwise why are they sweaty". Rick added. He was still high too. Yael grunted.
His gift was all stomped on and the tickets were being squeezed in his clutched hand. He didn't look at me.
"What happened to the box!?!" I asked. Yael only grumbled.
"The druggies over there stomped it". Fiona answered.
She seemed mad at me too but that's not new.
"Forget the box we need to bounce!" Tyreese said.
"Hey!" Yelled a teacher. "You kids should be inside!" "Come on!"
He made us all come out the woods and brought us back to the dance. I wonder if he saw any of the zombies.
We were back inside. Allot has changed since we left. Nobody was talking, dancing, and the lights were on. It was like prom died.
Tyreese went to talk to one of his popular friends.
"Dude what happened?" He asked.
"Bruh, they cut off the music and put away all the food". His friend said. "They said everyone had to be quiet". "This prom is whack but they won't let anyone leave". "They said it's for safety reasons". Tyreese nodded and walked away.
"Wait so we don't get to go home?" Fiona asked. Tyreese shook his head. We needed answer.
"I'll be back". I said leaving. I found Mrs. Parker standing by a exit.
"What's going on?" I asked. Mrs. Parker had to tell me something. Lucky for me she did.
"The principal is getting calls from the police telling her to keep everyone inside where it's safe".
"Why?"
"Police have been getting reports of violent people walking the streets". "Many people have been reported dead because they were eaten alive". "We won't tell other students because they'll freak out."Its not safe out there". I thanked Mrs. Parker and returned to the group.
"There keeping us here because of zombies". I said approaching them.
"Zombies, dafuq?" Fiona commented. I turned to Tyreese.
"Ya know, the thing that grabbed me in the woods". Yael rolled his eyes.
"That was a zombie?" He asked. "But...zombies aren't real...they can't be".
"Wait!" Dennis said. "What type of zombie was it?" We stared at him blankly. "Was it a Walking Dead zombie, a Left for Dead zombie, or a Last Of Us zombie?" Dennis went on and on talking about how he's always wanted to see a Left For Dead zombie.
"Oh my God Dennis will you shut up!" Fiona harshly yelled.
"Can I get your attention?" Asked the the principal on the microphone. Everyone looked at her. "I'm gonna need everyone to sit over in that corner away from the doors". "Then I need everyone to stay quiet".
Most people couldn't hear her because the music was so loud. The ones that did did what was told and everyone else followed along. I'm guessing the police called again and had the principal tell us to do this as a way of hiding from the zombies.
There was too many people here, how could you hide them from the zombies. People were going to die. I creeped off to the bathroom and looked through the blurred window.
Several no, hundreds zombies slowly shuffled up the street towards the building. I had a giant panic attack inside my head.
Do they even know how many are out there!?! Why are they all attracted to this building out of everything else out there!?! Are we going to survive this attack!?! Are we going to die!?!
I thought back to all the zombie movies I've see. All zombies are attracted to noise! They need to cut the music off or we'll all die.
I came out to see everyone piled over in a corner. The lights were shut off so everyone could blend in with the dark. Yael signalled me over but I didn't have time to talk I needed to warn the principal. Yael frowned when I walked away from him.
I found the principal huddled in a corner with other students.
"You need to turn off the music!" I told her over the music.
"Young lady, go back to a corner!" She said.
"You-
"I said go back to a corner".
" I know what's going on!" The principal stopped yelling. "They're attracted to noise!" "You need to turn off the music and get the students quiet". "Trust me".
The principal arose from her spot and went to the microphone.
"Mrs. Parker, I need you to turn off the music and for you students, I need you to stay quiet". "This is a Code Red Lockdown!""I repeat, Code Red Lockdown". "Treat this seriously".
The music stopped and the students stopped murmuring. I went back to sit with Yael but he didn't look too happy about it.
Code Red Lockdown is a very serious drill we practice in school. Everyone was really serious about it. It was so quiet that you'd hear a penny drop.
But in every bunch of people, there are the ones that don't know a life and death situation when they see one. There was a group of obnoxious boys in the back of the group goofing around.
They'd giggle at something or punch each other and cause a ruckus. Everyone would tell them to shut up but they'd just laugh. It took the principal to threaten their track scholar ships for them to shut up but they'd snicker at something every once and a while.
I could hear the zombie's moans throughout the walls of the building. Everyone else could hear them to and were confused as crap. They still didn't know.
If it wasn't for the dark and quietness, we'd all be eaten by now. Only a little longer and the hoard will pass us by and we could be helped or something. If only those boys would shut up.
There was a zombie so close to the door that everyone could hear it breathing. It sounded big and there could be other zombies behind it.
All we had to do was keep quiet then the zombie would lose interest and leave.
But some people just couldn't handle that.
The boys in the back thought this was a joke. They did the most obnoxious thing to get us killed.
One of them farted.
