"Wake up!" Yael yelled. Ozzie and I almost had a heart attack when we woke up to see him covered in blood. "We need to leave now!"
Ozzie and I quickly sprawled out of bed and out of our pajamas. Already I was starting to panic.
What was wrong? Is everyone okay? Yael needs to give me some answers.
When we got dressed we ran downstairs. Blood covered the floors and the front door was barricaded. Everyone was in the kitchen gathering food and stuffing it in their bags.
"What's going on?" I asked. Tyreese ran pass me and added a chair to the barricade.
"The hoard, they came early, we gotta get to the boat now!" He ran back into the kitchen.
"Ozzie get our bags, we gotta pack food". I said. Ozzie ran back upstairs. I rushed into the kitchen.
Half the food was already packed. I helped pack into other's bags and packed knives and other household weapons.
There was a banging noise coming from the front door. They're here.
"Come on guys, we leave now!" Yael yelled. He ran towards the back door and held it open for everyone. Ozzie came back downstairs and gave me my bag.
Everyone ran out the door. As soon as we were all out, the barricade fell apart and zombies flooded inside. Yael quickly slammed the door.
Once we were all outside, we saw that the beach and street was filled with zombies. Instead of running into the street, we all went in the shed and climbed down into the sewer.
Once everyone was down, we all stayed in place trying to catch our breath. Yael turned on his flashlight.
"Tyler, you know the sewers best". Yael whispered. "Take us to the boat".
Tyler led the way into the never-ending journey to the boat. Everyone walked in silence careful not to attract the attention of the rich dead. They were nowhere to be seen but they had to be close.
We passed allot of dead bodies drifting in the sewage water. Tyreese must've noticed I was spooked and wanted to comfort me. Anytime he'd try to walk up to me I'd speed up or slow down.
I didn't want to talk to him. I wanted space. He wants to do this whole dating thing but its a zombie apocalypse for crying out loud! There's no time for romance anymore.
How am I gonna tell him tho? He practically killed Fiona over me and if I dump him, that'll be for nothing.
After a couple of miles, Tyler said we were close. "Just right around this corner". He repeated. Yael flashed his light around the corner flashing every zombie that was crowded around the ladder.
Yael quickly turned up the flashlight. "Now what?" He whispered.
"Lets go over there". Ozzie suggested pointing at the platform on the other side of sewer. It was blocked off by the river of sewage. "We can jump over the pee and poop water and make it to the other side". "Then go up that ladder instead of that one".
Rick smiled and nodded at Ozzie causing her to smile. Everyone murmured about her plan and decided it was good enough to try.
"Good job Oz". Yael said. "Ok people, we jump over all this crap". "Get a running jump and make sure you make that jump...quietly".
As an example, Yael jumped over the crap and perfectly landed. He didn't make a sound and the zombies didn't see him. "Hurry!" He whispered.
