The school bell rung signaling everyone to go home. I rose my head up from the desk and realized I was in class. Everyone around me was packing up their stuff and leaving. They were the familiar students of school.
I was so confused. Everyone is alive, has prom even happened yet. Where was I?
A woman handed me a napkin with a chocolate cupcake in it. It was Mrs. Hoble!
"I brought cupcakes for the class". She said. "You didn't get one since you were asleep".
Dennis was holding her hand while licking the iceing off a cupcake. He smiled at me showing all the chocolate that stained his teeth.
They were alive! That's it, this whole zombie thing was a nightmare! None of that stuff really happened, I was in class the whole time!
I ignored the cupcake and brought Dennis into a hug then Mrs. Hoble. They were confused but I didn't care.
I pulled away and gave them a big smile.
"Well...that's a big thank you for a cupcake". Mrs. Hoble said.
"Have you seen Yael?" Dennis asked. "I got the new Left for Dead and I just know he'll like it".
Yael! He's alive too! I have to see him!
I dashed out the door without answering Dennis. It felt like years since I've been in these hallways but I still remember like it was yesterday...and it was. If there's one place Yael will always be, is the library.
I ran around the corner but quickly fell to the floor. Aw, the familiar taste of the school hallway.
I looked over my shoulder to see Rick, Tyler, Fiona, and Tyreese. Rick had a evil smirk on his face so I know he's the one who tripped me.
I gasped happily and rose to my feet giving each of them a hug. They all seemed confused. When I gave Tyreese a hug, he blushed but tried to play it off. Fiona pryed me away from him.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" She barked.
"Language". Mrs. Parker said while walking pass us.
Ehhhhhh...not really happy about that...
I continued my run to the library finally making it there.
There he was, by himself reading a thick book while packing up his stuff.
I ran right up to him and hugged him.
"Leo?" He asked confused. I squeezed his body trying to hold in the happy tears in my eyes.
"Leo". Yael repeated. This time he sounded like he was running out of air. I must be crushing him but I still didn't stop hugging him.
Yael managed to pry me away from him. There was a hint of pink in Yael's cheeks but he still had a look of confusion on his face.
"Leo, are you ok, you're crying?" He asked.
I didn't even notice the warm happy tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just...really happy to see you". I replied with a smile.
"Well...me too...to see you of course, I'm not saying I'm happy to see me because...that'll just be...silly". He replied awkwardly.
I laughed because I missed his sense of humor so much.
