Leola and Ozzie vs. The World

Chapter 38

"You guys be safe out there".  Crash said shaking Tyreese's hand.

"Likewise". Alex replied shaking Crash's hand also.

Like Tyreese and Alex said at dinner last night, they're leaving at noon and here they are, leaving. They were taking the car we put our food in packed with half our food and all of Crash's meds. They'll need it more than we do. Everyone was gathered around saying their goodbyes.

I decided this would be a good time to apologize to Alex before its too late. I took a deep breath and walked over.

She was saying goodbye to Ozzie. "And listen to Leo, and when it gets annoying, don't be afraid to tell Crash to stop singing".

Ozzie smiled and hugged Alex again. Ozzie pulled away and went to say goodbye to Tyreese.

"Hey". I said awkwardly.

"Hey...". She replied.

"I'm...really, really sorry about what I said last night". " I-

"Its cool girl", She said smiling "You were just really stressed out...we all were".

I smiled and hugged Alex. "You were always the happy spirit of the group, we're all gonna miss you".

She pulled away and smiled.

"You all are happy spirits". She said. "If I you don't think so...you'll always have Crash".

We both looked over at Crash who was singing Tyreese a goodbye song. Tyreese was covering his ears but Ozzie seemed to love the song. I laughed at his misery.

Tyreese ran from Crash over to me.

"His voice isn't that bad but his songs suck ass". He muttered to us. Alex and I laughed.

"I'm gonna say bye to Yael". Alex said leaving. That left Tyreese and I alone.

I sighed. "So I guess this is goodbye".

"I hope not". He replied. "I really do want to stay in this group but I can't stay in Fort Pierce".

"I understand".

"If you guys change your mind", Tyreese said. "Alex and I will be in Yonker its East of Fort Pierce, we can regroup there".

"Yonker?"

"Yeah...it's not really a popular town but it's small enough to be safe in". "I know because I have family there". "The town is right next to Sebring".

I nodded. "I'll keep it in mine".

He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back.

"Please be safe". I said pulling away.

Tyreese slyly smiled. "Naw, being dangerous is on my to do list!"

I rolled my eyes and punched him in the chest.

Tyreese turned to Alex. "We gotta go!" He called. She rushed over and got inside the car with him.

While driving out of the course, they threw their arms out the windows and waved goodbye. We waved goodbye too.

I leaned against a cart with Yael and we watched their car intill it was out of sight.

I sighed. "I miss them already".  I said.

"Me too". Yael added. He looked around then hung his his head. "This group, it's getting smaller".

I nodded my head in agreement. Having a small group probably isn't a good thing but it's not like we can go out and pick who we want in our group.
