"We don't meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason."•••
"Jungkook, what are you doing here?" I began to walk towards him as he walked towards me.
I could hear the girls snickering beside us but I could care less about what they had been saying. I wanted to know how he found out I attended school here.
"Well, I texted you asking what time you got out of school but you didn't reply so then I figured you wouldn't be checking your phone in school which lead me to just finding out myself. Plus, Seoul International is kind of the only school that's close by to the bus stop you had been planning to get off at. It's all simple knowledge, really." He pointed to his head with his index finger and shrugged.
Well, shit.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket to see that he had in fact texted me. I slid it back inside my sweater and looked back to him.
"I must admit. I'm impressed." I crossed my arms and smiled slyly. "Still, it doesn't explain why you're exactly here."
"Oh, well, I was wondering if we could hang a bit. Assuming you don't have anything to do?"
Should I lie?
No. I'm not THAT mean.
"Uh, no. I'm free as far as I know." I smiled slightly.
"Great, come on." He smiled and made a gesture with his arm and hand to follow him.
I nodded and started walking towards him again before feeling a tap on my shoulder. I turned to find myself facing one of the girls. Mina.
Mina and her friends were one of the most stuck up/conceited group of girls I've ever seen. Although they never bothered me, I always made sure to be aware of my surroundings when they happened to be around me.
"Wau, is that your boyfriend, Y/N?" Her eyes widened.
"Um no. He's not." I pumped my bag up to position the strap on my shoulder more comfortably.
"I see." She nodded once and looked up at him. "Well, don't keep him waiting." I saw her throw him a smirk before turning around to face her friends.
Bitch, you're the one that stopped me.
I narrowed my eyebrows at them for a bit and then turned around to do a small jog to catch up to Jungkook who seemed to stop to wait up for me while Mina and I spoke
"Your friends?" He asked me as I walked alongside him.
"Pft. Mina and her little clan? MY friends? Never."
He smiled and nodded. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. They don't seem like the good type to hang with."
I raised my eyebrow at his comment and tilted my head to the side slightly as I looked towards him. "What do you mean by that?"
"The type who pretends to be someone they're not." He shrugged as he looked at the ground. "I've ran into many girls like that in my life and I absolutely find it very unattractive."
I took in his words as he spoke and then chuckled after. "I don't think you'd like my school much then. We have a bunch of those here."
"Yikes, how do you manage dealing with that?"
"Shoot, I don't even know. I guess I've gotten used to it, ha." I heard a chuckle escape his lips and it got silent for a few seconds before I decided to speak up again. "Jungkook, where exactly are we going anyways?"
"To introduce you to the best hot dogs in the world."
༺༻
"Two hot dogs please."
I'm not exactly sure of how I ended up in a fast food restaurant with Jungkook. I literally met the guy yesterday and even THAT wasn't a proper introduction. Yet it didn't feel like he was a stranger. In fact, I felt quite comfortable and at ease with him.
"You know, I could've paid for my half." I spoke to him as he sat back down with the two hot dogs in separate food trays.
"No need. After all, I'm the one who invited you to hang out. Plus, I wouldn't exactly be a gentleman if I made you pay your half." He handed me one of the hotdogs and set it in front of me. "Anyways, it's not much. Just a hot dog." He shrugged.
He squeezed some ketchup onto his hot dog before lifting it up from the tray and taking a huge bite into it. I eyed the hotdog in front of me.
Out of all the foods he could've chosen, he chose to invite me for a hotdog.
I mean, I like hot dogs, don't get me wrong, but I can't help but get a dirty idea.
What if he's actually being a creep right now?
Or maybe the guy just wants to be nice and take you to try the "best hot dog in the world", Y/N.
Why the hell am I overthinking so much?
"Aren't you gonna eat? Is there something wrong with the hot dog?"
My eyes shot up to look at Jungkook and I quickly shook my head.
"No, not at all. Sorry, I was just thinking about something." I smiled in reassurance and lifted my hot dog to take a bite.
"About?"
Boy, he sure does ask a lot of questions.
"Ah, nothing important. So, tell me. Why did you actually want to hang out? I'm sure it's not just because of the hot dogs." I took another chomp off my food.
"Well, to be completely honest, ever since I bumped into you, I couldn't help but feel intrigued by you. I know that sounds really weird since we barely know each other and I really don't want you to think I'm being pushy or anything but I would really like it if we could get to know each other a bit more. It would be nice to have a new friend." He made eye contact with me and once again, gave me that bunny smile.
"New friend huh? You sure you want to befriend me? I can be a lot to handle." I chuckled and raised my eyebrow.
"Hm. I think I can handle it."
