"Point your fingers, I couldn't care less."

Y/N's POV:

As the days passed, school was becoming less of a hassle as you would imagine. Amy and I decided to catch up on our friendship since we haven't been hanging around each other as much as we used to. We decided to go out to our favorite hang out spot, which was the Han River.

"Thanks for bringing me here, Y/N. I had almost forgotten how being stress-free felt like."

I looked at my best friend with concerned eyes. "You've been stressed lately? Why haven't you told me?"

She shrugged. "You know I usually keep my stress to myself. Besides, you were already dealing with a lot of other stuff, the least I wanna do is pile you with even more junk."

"Amy, it's not junk. You're my best friend. If you're going through something, I want to help you. That's what I'm here for."

"Ah, you need to stop being so kind, Y/N. I worry about you sometimes. I really hope that the world treats you good. It feels as if bad things always happen to the best people and I really don't want that for you."

I shrugged. "I'll be fine. I think if everyone were to be unkind to everyone, our world would definitely be a terrible place but," I paused. "That isn't the case. There are still some decent people out there. That's why I do my best to be one of those people, hoping it'll give faith to those who think this world is screwed. There's got to be someone that takes the initiative."

She smiled. "Jungkook is lucky to have you."

"And Yoongi is lucky to have you."

She nodded slowly. "Yeah, yeah. Right."

It was obvious there was a change of mood in my best friend's eyes as she spoke.

"Hey, is everything okay between you two?"

"What?" She looked up at me. "Yeah, no, everything is good. He's just busy most of the time. He seems to be set on making a career out of his rapping skills. I worry that one day he'll become some big star and will forget all about me. It's stupid but you know through my hard-headed self, I can be quite high strung."

"I don't think it's stupid at all. If he's as good as you say he is, I don't doubt he could potentially reach up to that level of popularity. However, I don't think that would give him a reason to forget about you."

"Y/N, I'm not exactly his girlfriend yet. He hasn't even asked me if I wanted to take it to the next level. How can I even be so sure that he truly feels the same way about me?"

"Well from what I've been hearing from you, it really feels as if you guys were hitting it off well."

"We were. I guess things just change over time."

"Does he know you feel like this by any chance?"

She shook her head.

"Talk to him. Communication is an important thing in any kind of relationship."

"What if he doesn't understand? What if he takes it the wrong way? I don't want him to think that I'm belittling the importance of his passion."

"If you use the right wording, he'll understand where you're coming from."

My best friend looked out towards the river, her eyes following each small ripple of water they could catch.

"Thanks, Y/N. I really appreciate you along with your words. I love you, man. Out of all the people you could've chosen to be your best friend, you chose me."

"How could I not be friends with the girl who shared her noodles with me even if I was a complete stranger?"

"You were like, the only kid there who brought nothing for lunch. How could I not offer?"

I giggled. "You can blame my past nanny for that. I used to be so picky and I guess she got so tired of the fuss I was giving her that she decided she wasn't going to feed me at all."

Amy shook her head with a laugh. "That's wild."

"No kidding."

"I haven't asked, how are you and Jungkook?"

My eyes lit up, remembering the event that was supposed to take place today. "Jungkook! Oh my god! I totally forgot!"

Amy got startled by my unexpected shouting. "What's wrong?"

"His audition, it's today!" I began packing up my bag, throwing the straps over my arms.

"Oh, for BigHit right?"

I nodded. "I'm so sorry, Amy. Please forgive me. I really have to go."

"Don't apologize, let me take you." She stood up, collecting her own belongings.

"Amy, you really don't have to. I can just take the bus."

"Bitch, why would you take a bus if I can just drive you?"

"Well-"

"Don't answer that. I'm driving you there and that's that."

Jungkook's POV:

I wasn't usually a nervous guy nor did I get the last minute butterflies before any kind of public speaking or presentation but this was BigHit. One of the largest South Korean entertainment companies. If they feel as if I'm not qualified enough, it could weigh on me heavily.

I sat outside of the 'audition room', waiting for the sound of my name to be heard. A piece of paper hanging on a thin rope around my neck. The wait only caused my anticipation to grow. I had prepared my voice and movements in my head, practicing them in the studio the past couple of days in hope that the more I performed it by myself, the easier it'll be when I audition.

It felt as if all my hard work of preparation didn't really pay off.

Then I heard it. My number.

I got up so quick that I don't think the woman who called out for me got the chance to finish saying the whole number.

After she kindly led me into the room, I stood there, body stoned as three older men sat behind a table with emotionless expressions. They only spoke twice. The first time to ask me what I'll be performing and the second to tell me 'begin'.

And so I did.

I began.
