"Because your existence alone is art."

"Y/N, where exactly are you taking me?" Jungkook narrowed his eyes onto the road as he continued to drive.

I had decided to take Jungkook to a place that was special to me since he took me to his studio not long ago, sharing a special part in his life. I figured it was only fair.

"Nowhere scary, I promise." I giggled. "Take a right onto that path."

"Let's hope not." He chuckled in response before following my command.

We drove into a path that was very secluded until we reached a dead end which was close to the edge of a cliff, displaying a remarkable view of the sky.

"We're here." I turned to Jungkook who seemed too busy scanning the area, most likely taking in his whereabouts.

"Where are we?" He questioned.

"You'll see, come on." I smiled and opened the car door to get out the car; closing it afterwards. I headed towards the edge of the cliff and sat myself down carefully onto the rocky surface. Not long after, Jungkook followed behind and sat down besides me, his mouth ajar as he stared out into the distance.

"Y/N, this is absolutely beautiful. How did you find out about this place?"

I chuckled. "I thought you might like it. My father used to take me here when I was a little girl. He always used to tell me this story about the sun never being able to reach this part of the mountain due to the tall trees that surround it. However, he said that the sun would only come to shine it's light on this very spot if it sensed that there was someone with a pure heart who sat or stood here. Every time he took me here, the sun always shone on this spot. He told me that it was because I was here and I remember believing it. It seems silly now but it was always nice to come here and spend time with him whenever I felt down." I sighed softly. "Sorry this is probab-"

"Hey, it's not silly. Don't apologize either. If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if it shone here today because of you." He beamed.

Flustered, I smiled at him and quickly looked down at my fingers. "I doubt it."

"You really love discouraging yourself huh? Or is that just a girl thing?"

I laughed at his comment and shrugged. "I think it may be a girl thing."

"I see." He nodded. "When's the last time your father brought you here?"

"It's been years. Things have changed since then. Now he's always busy so we never have time."

"That sucks. Is it because of work?"

"Yeah, unfortunately. It's funny because I was always a 'daddy's girl' when I was younger. My mom was the one who financially supported our family at first, leaving my father to be the one who looked after me. Then, my dad wanted to fulfill his dream of becoming a lawyer so he started going back to law school. It was mainly tough because there were many times when I needed him for emotional support but he wasn't there to help me so I had to learn to help myself in that aspect. As you can see though, I turned out okay regardless of not having my parents there for me."

I wasn't aware of it but Jungkook had been looking at me with the softest eyes. I was caught by surprise when I felt his hand place over mine, which was resting on my thigh. I didn't look at him but I felt it. I didn't move nor did I say anything. We just sat there, staring out into distance. He didn't need to say anything to reply to my comment, I knew he felt bad. Although the sun beamed on both of us, it didn't feel as if I felt warmth from it. Instead, I felt a better kind of warmth which was caused by none other than Jungkook's hand and at that very moment, I realized that his touch was something that caused me to falter. I craved it at the most unexpected moments.
