"With distance, my heart opens more."

Y/N's POV:

My foot tapped nervously onto the rug of my car below my sneakers.

The view of the traffic ahead of me didn't help in keeping me serene. The sound of honking rung through my ears like an echo, causing me to have a slight headache.

It's always the times when you're actually in a rush that this kind of stuff happens.

My hands gripped onto the wheel tighter, my mind racing faster by the minute.

Figuring out a way to distract myself from this inescapable mess, I reached for my phone and called Taehyung. I didn't think I would be moving anytime soon.

"Y/N, hey, where are you?"

"Stuck in traffic, I'm afraid."

"Well, isn't that swell."

"Super." I rested my elbow onto the driver's window, looking out onto the streets. "How is he?"

"Decent. I'm sure he'll be much better when you arrive though."

That small sentence caused my cheeks to burn up slightly, no matter how untrue it may have sounded.

"Let's hope so." I chuckled softly.

"Speaking of Hope," He paused. "She came by. They talked."

My eyes widened. "Already?!"

"She came pretty quick. Left pretty quick too. I reckon they didn't have much to sort out. Last I heard, Yoongi said she was headed back to her hometown."

"So," I spoke softly. "It worked." What was originally supposed to be a question came out as a statement of accomplishment alternatively.

"It did. I told you we could be persuasive. Especially since she has a soft spot for basically all of us. I just didn't think she would return back to Daegu. That was never part of the plan. Guess we killed two birds with one stone today."

I wanted to sound as cheerful as Tae did. We had gotten rid of Hope and it was worth smiling about.

Yet, I just couldn't bring myself to do so.

I had wanted Jungkook to cut his ties with Hope and I had finally got what I wanted.

So, why wasn't I happy?

"Y/N? You still there?"

I brought myself together, telling myself to shake away the thoughts I was currently having.

"Yeah, sorry, it's just-" I sighed. "Would it be wrong of me to say I feel bad?"

I was left unanswered for a bit.

"Why do you feel bad?"

"Well, what if Jungkook didn't want this? What if he still wanted to be friends with her? She only left because you all spoke with her about the situation. We didn't exactly consider how Jungkook felt."

My eyebrows crashed together in unison when I heard laughter over the phone.

"What's so funny?" I questioned in a confused manner.

"Y/N, listen to yourself. That is one of the silliest things I have ever heard. Jungkook loves you and he would be willing to get rid of even me if it meant putting a smile on your face. Now, just focus on getting here so you both can pour your feelings out for each other."
