"Nicknames are fond names. We do not give them to people we dislike."

Jungkook was actually a very interesting human being. I learned quite a lot about him as we conversed over our hot dogs. I learned that he was born in Busan but he moved to Seoul to be with his hyungs. I learned that he had already graduated from high school but was taking a year off before going to college so that he can practice two big passions of his, which happened to be dancing and singing. Coincidentally, our families are kind of similar. His parents own a huge company in Busan and they were rarely home during his childhood years. Even now, he says he doesn't get to talk to them much.

Me on the other hand, I think I babbled on way too much. Probably more than I should have. I told him about almost my entire life. I was an open book. Maybe it was the fact that he shared a lot with me that I felt entitled to share just as much.

"So, do your parents always come home late?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

Jungkook had offered to walk me home after I declined his offer about what seemed like 100 times. Eventually, I gave in. He just wouldn't give up.

As we stepped into the driveway of my house, I turned to face him. "Well, I have to admit. That was nice, thanks for inviting me." I smiled, gaining a smile back.

"I'm glad you had a nice time, Y/N. You know, since we're friends now, we should have nicknames for each other." He crossed his arms and tilted his head to the side slightly.

"Nicknames? Pft. What are you, 10?" I laughed.

"On a scale of 1-10, yes, I am." He smirked and uncrossed his arms. "In all seriousness though, I want a nickname."

"Hm. Fine. Kookoo."

"Huh? Kookoo? What kind of nickname is that?"

"Hey, there were no rules as to being picky with the nicknames. Beggars can't be choosers." I shot back.

"Fine then. Two can play at that game. Your nickname will be roach."

"Wait what? That's not fair! How come I have to be an animal?"

"Animals are cute, what do you mean?"

Oh.

"Um, not roaches." I looked down at the ground.

"They're cute in their own way. Some people just fail to see it." He shrugged.

I felt a strange tingling sensation in my cheeks. "Look, I should really get inside now. I have a bunch of studying to do and I'd hate to have to stay up until midnight." I sighed.

"Understandable. I should get going myself. My hyungs will be wondering where I'm at. Hopefully we can meet up again sometime soon?"

"Yeah, I'd like that. Whenever you're available just let me know."

"Well, if you're saying that, then how about this weekend? I'm available then."

I took a second to think if I had anything to do and I remembered I had planned to go out with my mom since she had this upcoming weekend off.

Shoot.

I was really looking forward to spending time with my mom especially since I didn't know when I'd ever get the next chance to.

But.....

I also really liked spending time with Jungkook.

No.

I would not let my mother be a choice.

"I'm actually spending Saturday with my mom, sorry." I pouted a bit and he shook his head.

"That's okay, no need to apologize. Family should always come first. How about Sunday?"

"Sunday? But isn't that like.......a "relaxing day"?"

"I can make the effort."

"Well, then okay. Sunday works." I fixed a smile on my face.

"Great. I'll pick you up at around noon."

"Okay, sounds good." I smiled and nodded to him. "Well, have a good evening, Kookoo. Thanks for walking me home." I gestured a respectful bow to him.

"Anytime, roach. Same to you." He smiled and started walking backwards slowly before turning around and walking in his own direction.

Aish, this boy.

Jungkook's POV:

"Took you long enough to get home."

When I arrived home, I walked in on a Jimin who was sitting down on the couch in the living room. I also saw Taehyung sitting down on the ground, reading some sort of book.

"Awe, did you miss me that much?" I cooed at him, squinting my eyes slightly.

"Pft. Don't get too carried away. You just usually come home earlier than this. Where were you anyways?" He crossed his arms.

"What's it to you?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Fine, I didn't want to know anyways." He turned his head back to face the television that was playing, like a little child.

Taehyung shot his head up from his book and pushed his non-prescription glasses upwards with his middle and index finger then turned to face us.

"There's some yukgaejang in the kitchen if you're hungry. Yoongi-hyung made some." He smiled.

"Maybe later. I'm not that hungry but thank you for the offer." I nodded once and began to walk towards my room before I heard my hyung speak again.

"Mwo? You're always hungry when you come home!" I turned to see Taehyung with his mouth opened slightly creating a shocked expression.

"He probably ate already, Taehyung-ah. The question is, where......?"

"And with who?"

I narrowed my eyebrows at Jimin. "Why do you have to assume that I ate with someone? Maybe I went to go out and eat by myself."

"Now ain't that a load of bullshit." The three of us turned our heads to look where the voice was coming from.

I sighed in annoyance. "Hello, Namjoon-hyung."

"Yah, Namjoon, tell Jungkookie that it's not good to lie to his hyungs!" Jimin pointed his index finger in my direction.

"Kookie, it's not good to lie to your hyungs." Namjoon turned to face me and smirked.

"Look, I don't have time for this. I'm tired and I'm going to sleep." I waved my hand in the air to them as I headed to my room. "Jal ja."

"But it's only 7:48!"

After entering my room, I closed my door, hearing the once clear voices become muffled ones.

A/N :

If you're wondering why I chose "Kookoo" to be his nickname in the story, it's because I personally call him that. I know, it sounds silly but I find it cute on him.
