"Live life with no worries."•••
I actually like school. It's just the students that attend that are the problem. I've always kept to myself, avoiding almost everyone unless I absolutely needed to speak to someone. That is, with an exception of Amy. We've known each other since elementary through middle school and when we both got accepted to the same high school, you can imagine how happy we were that we'd stick together once again.

"I give up! I've thought all I can." Amy eyed the paper below her in frustration. "Why the hell do I even need to know about ecology? More importantly, why do I need to write a 5 page essay on it? How is this going to benefit my life?"
It was the Monday night from returning to school and I offered Amy to come by my house so we can do homework together like the old days.
"Here," I laughed at her whining and handed her a bag of seaweed crisps. "take a break. You've been working hard ever since we got here." She thanked me and took the snack from my hands, practically ripping open the bag before digging in.
"Jeez girl, slow down. You'll choke."
"Ha. The only thing I like to choke on is that dic-"
There was a knock on my bedroom door and we both shot our heads towards the sound. "Come in!" I yelled out, giving Amy a stern look.
The doorknob shifted and the door opened a crack, revealing my mother. "Sorry to disturb you both from your studies but Y/N, your father is here. He wants to speak to you." She left after her message. I gulped softly and turned to look at Amy, giving her an apologetic look. "I'll be back ASAP." She smiled and waved one of her hands at me. "Ani, take your time." After giving her a swift nod, I slid off the bed and walked towards my bedroom door, exiting the room.
When I got downstairs, I saw my father sitting on the living room couch, looking at some documents which I assumed were for work. I went to stand in front of the coffee table which was across from him. He lifted his head up, in acknowledgment of my presence. He gave me a stern yet soft look.
"Y/N."
"Appa." I nodded once. "You finally came home, I see."
"Yes, I was given permission to come home early as long as I worked effectively on my case. Come and sit, I want to talk to you." He patted the empty spot on the couch beside him, taking his glasses off. I walked over to the couch and sat down, not looking at him.
"How is school going? How are your test scores?"
"School is good and my test scores are also very good."
"Look at me when you speak, Y/N."
I turned to look at my father's dark brown orbs. "I said school is good and my test scores are also very good."
"Good. I look forward to receiving the upcoming report of your grades." He patted my back once. "Hopefully one of these days, I can take a break from work and spend time with you."
"Yeah, hopefully." I nodded slowly and spoke in a soft tone.
I heard a sigh escape his lips before he continue to speak again. "Well, I don't want to keep Amy waiting, I'll let you go back to your studies. Say hi to her for me. Thank you for coming down to see me. Don't forget to keep on track with your school work."
