"It's okay to get hurt. I'm alright, even if I can't have you."•••
Meeting Jungkook's brothers was a very fun and unique experience for me, despite the fact that I gave one of them a boner. They were all very accepting of me and treated me as if they hadn't just met me. I felt comfortable around them and because of that, I was able to act as myself, something that I didn't usually do with other people, especially not right after meeting them. Before I left, they all made sure that I had some way to contact them if I ever needed anything which was really considerate of them. They also asked me to come by the house again sometime, teasing Jungkook that they'd let us have the place to ourselves one day. However, as I lay there in my bed that night, staring at the ceiling, I kept replaying Jungkook's facial expressions in my head. He seemed fine when I first saw him but it seemed as if as soon as he realized that me and Tae knew each other, he was annoyed. I don't know why I kept overthinking about it but it worried me in a way that Jungkook wasn't acting like himself. My thoughts were intervened when a knock was heard on my door.
"Y/N, are you still awake?" My mother's soft voice questioned.
"Yeah, come in." I spoke.
She twisted the knob on my door and entered my room, heading towards me before sitting herself gently on the bed.
"I came to let you know that for the next couple of nights, I might not be able to come home. My presence is becoming more needed at the hospital to a point where I might have to stay there overnights."
My eyes wandered over to meet hers. She looked tired. She had faint dark circles under her eyes along with a bit of puffiness. I could tell she had been working hard the past couple of days and I really felt for her.
"That's okay, mom. I just wish you could get more days off so that you can rest." I smiled sweetly to her.
"I think most of us at the hospital would really like that." She chuckled and reached over to stroke my hair. "Thank you for understanding, sweetie. Anyways, how is everything going? Do you still talk to Jungkook?"
"Yeah, actually I went to his house to meet his brothers tonight. They're all really nice."
"All? How many?"
"Uh, 6."
"6?! Y/N, you need to tell me when you're going to a boy's house especially if there's going to be more than one boy there. You know your father wouldn't have approved of that."
"Sorry, mom. I won't do it again. I'll tell you beforehand if I end up going again. Like I said though, they were really friendly. I think you'd like them too."
"If they're anything similar to Jungkook, I just might." She teased. "Well, I'm glad that you're still talking to him, he seems like a good boy."
"Yeah, he is." I sighed in content. "Hey, mom. I know this question seems odd of me to ask but,
"How did you know that you had feelings for dad?"
"Well, let's just say, he made me feel different than other boys usually did. In a good way though, of course. I could tell he wasn't like the others and that attracted me to him. He stood out to me. You know, your father may be stubborn at times but he's also a very caring person, even if he might not show it all the time."
I nodded and smiled, taking in my mother's words.
"Why do you ask though? You're right, that is an odd question to ask, coming from you." She raised a brow.
