Ross POV-

I saw Sarah collapse on the ground when I saw her reach the gate. "No!" I shouted, then ran to her side.

I lifted her head, and realized she wasn't breathing. "She's not breathing! She's not breathing!" I yelled. Everyone ran to my side. "What happened?!" Ashley shrieked. "I-I don't know she isn't breathing! She must've been caught in there for too long!" I explained. "Don't worry let's just get her to the hospital." Riker said calmly. I nodded, then we carried her into the car and sped to the hospital.

I carried her bridal style into the hospital, and then gave her to the nurses. "W-what's going to happen to her?" I asked as they loaded her into the gurney. "I don't know sir.. It doesn't look good. We'll contact you soon." She said, then raced down the hallway with my girlfriend.

"Why does this have to happen?" I cried as I walked over to the rest of my family and friends. "Ross, everything is going to be-" Ashley started, but I cut her off. "That's all I've been hearing lately! 'Everythings going to be ok!' Well what if it's not, Ashley? What if the love of my life dies? It's a possibility! Did you ever think of that?" I snapped. Her eyes widened. "Well I don't like to think of the bad side of things, unlike you!" She remarked. "Whatever.." I mumbled, then sat down in the waiting room.

--------------------------------------------

"Mister Lynch," the nurse said. "You may visit Mrs. Matthews."

I gulped, then got up. "Is she o-ok?" I asked. She shook her head, "She's in a coma.. She might not make it out. We may have to.. You know, pull the plug in a couple hours if she doesn't wake up." She informed me.

I felt my heart sink, and tears well up in my eyes. "Ok." I managed to say, then walked into Sarah's room.

I saw she had a breathing mask on, some cuts and bruises, and tubes everywhere. The monitor was beeping.

Beep, beep.

I sat in the chair next to her bed, and intertwined her pale fingers with mine. "I love you." I whispered.

I waited and waited and waited. Still she didn't wake up.

Beep, beep.

I felt a tear trickle down my cheek. She might die. What will I do then?

"R-Ross?" A raspy voice asked.

I looked up, to find my girlfriend looking at me painfully. "Yes?" I asked. "I.. I'm tired." She said. "You mean like, sleepy tired right?" I asked. She shook her head slowly. "No.. But when I leave, forever, I want you to know that I love you. And I will forever." She said.

I shook my head vigorously. "Sarah, you can't give up! You're the strongest person I know! You have to win!"

"Well," she said, "They won."

She sat up, and kissed my lips softly, but I knew she was trying her best to kiss me as best she could. Then, she leaned back down. "I love you, forever." She said. "I love you so much, Sarah." I replied, then kissed her once more, as passionately as I could.

She smiled weakly, then her eyes closed.

Beep, beep.

Those were the final sounds I heard, then it all went flat. And everything stopped.

It's over.

They won.
