"L, I'm getting sick and tired of having to sit down and listen to your conversations." Watari complained.
I sighed, "Then why don't you stop? I never asked you to listen in."
"Why don't I stop? You have no idea how to socialise, can't tell how far 'too far' is when you speak, although you're smart you have no clue how the modern day works and you can't even hail your own cab. Would you like me to continue?" I could practically see the smirk on Watari's face as they spoke through the earpiece.
"No, that's fine." I said through gritted teeth, "I'd actually appreciate if you'd shut up."
"Wow, which side of the bed did you get out of today?"
"Fuck off." I growled, to which Watari replied with a small laugh.
"Go and meet Smith now, didn't he ask to meet with you?"
"Yeah, yeah. I know, shh."

I walked into the FWPD building with the same usual look on my face. The place was reasonably sized and brick walled with a sign saying 'FWPD' plastered on the front. The inside of the building was more interesting, however. Past the reception desk, manned by a woman I didn't bother to learn the name of, was an office of desks covered in paper which had been carelessly thrown everywhere. I let myself crack my knuckles as a way to avoid yelling.
As I made my way into the private rooms dedicated to the larger cases, I heard the door slam behind me. I turned to see Erwin standing with a rather pissed look on his face.
"You called?" I asked, keeping my voice calm despite the angry male striding towards me.
"What is the meaning of this?" Erwin pulled out a sketch of someone who looked like me. "Why is it that after my son was held for ransom by the Titans in order to get protection from Kira, I find that he had also been dealing with you posing as his criminology professor? I don't know how things work where you're from, but this classified as harassment. Lucky for you, Eren doesn't want to press charges."
"L, now would be a good time to cover your ass up." Watari said, rather unhelpfully, through the earpiece.
"I'm not 'posing as his criminology professor', Chief Smith, I'm teaching a criminology class." I stated, technically not lying. It was the truth; I was teaching Eren Smith's criminology class through legitimate means. I simply convinced the head of the university to let me run a class, telling them that I had all the teaching qualifications. The university was down a criminology professor either way, I just lent a hand in furthering the process. "I know someone who told me I needed to get out more often, get used to the world outside my, and I quote, 'little bubble of unsocial attitude', so I decided to try teaching a class in a subject I am well versed in. Does this answer reach your satisfaction?" I finally asked, keeping the same monotonous look plastered on my face.
"I highly doubt that, Rivaille," Erwin's words came out like ice. "You've held my son after class many times, even telling him that you suspect him of being Kira and that he is to 'prove his innocence.' I apologize, but this isn't the time of the Salem witchcraft incidents. In America, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Drop the act, Rivaille. You're only further digging your grave. Don't think that your out of character interest with my son last meeting didn't go unnoticed."
"L, don't even try and lie through your teeth. You suck at it." Watari confessed, "Look, just tell him what you think and see what happens. Erwin Smith has stronger feelings about his family than I think most families do. Just tell him what you've found out and see how he reacts. If all else fails, just bring out the folder."
