Selena starred at the full moon longingly, making the scenery visible in my sight as the husky voice kept echoing inside my mind. The call became louder and stronger than before, giving me a stream of shiver under my skin. Selena seemed to feel it also as I noticed she went stiff, with her fur standing against the cold wind.

"Mate," she said softly. I just kept silent, listening to the sound of Selena's breath as she started to howl again to the moon.

"My Sweet," the voice cooed sweetly. The deep voice ignited more shivers that started drowning me slowly. "Finally, you're here, My Sweet."

Selena whimpered softly while putting her tail to kiss the grassy land of the meadow. She sat back on her hind legs. "Yes, finally," she uttered in a dreamy tone.

If I had two legs right now, I would have just made a run to be away from my own mind. But, ironically, I had four legs now, but could not even make a run from this moment.

"Where are you, My Sweet? Why did you leave?" he asked, with a hint of whimper. Sadness was there, lacing in the word 'leave' so intensely. I could not stop the guilt that immediately rushed back to my mind, silently punishing me for running away from my problem. Recalling what Selena had said about how Killian and his wolf had a different thought about me made me realize that probably his wolf did not want to despise me.

"It's your human," Selena answered after giving a long pause, leaving me with another heavy guilt of separating these two lovers. "He rejected my human."

A deep sound of sigh was heard. "Yeah, I know. He's so dumb that I wish to be separated from him," he muttered, sounding so helpless probably because he could not make any effort to change the fate. "I mean, look what his dumb decision has brought us to."

A tsunami of memories instantly swept me to the deepest part of emotion, letting me stay there to repent my last encounter with Killian. Again. For the countless times. My mind mercilessly shoved the cruel pictures of me being rejected, along with the help of the sound of his every word that dripped from his plump lips.

Bad mind.

"Why did he reject us?" Selena whimpered softly. "I mean, we know his reason, but it's just..." she stopped in a sudden like she did not want to continue anymore further. She lowered her heads and put it on her forelegs.

"Well, he just doesn't want to have—and I quote," the voice halted suddenly, but then was followed by the sound of sucking air greedily. "A mate who can't even protect herself from losing an eye. A Luna should be able to protect herself first to protect the other members of the pack. Unquote." The voice growled at the end, indicating that he hated this thought to the core. Probably. "Besides, it's him who rejected you, not me. I never want to reject my other half. Believe me."

Selena immediately whimpered, probably feeling my sudden sob attack that threatened to come. "Honey, he's a real idiot. An idiot," she said softly, attempting to lessen the pain that had made its way to my heart through my nerves right now. I had an urge to crawl under a tree and cry there my whole life.
