The meadow was so beautiful under the warm evening sun. The tall grass danced so beautifully with the wind, creating a marvelous movement. The sun began to set in the west, granting me with the beautiful orange color painting the sky. I ran my hands in the air, feeling the gush of winds while closing my eye and savoring this moment for myself.
Well, I'm not alone now.
I opened my eye and attempted to voice out the one question that had been nagging my mind since I knew Selena this morning. "So, how's exactly sketching Bertha or Killian," I gulped when I mentioned that name again, "in my mind can help you to contact them?"
Selena had been whining all day since our so-called mate did not even return the so-called call. I could imagine she constantly wagged her tails in annoyance, pouting cutely.
Is it only a figment of my imagination or reality?
Selena sighed. "Reality, indeed, Honey," she said weakly. "See, I'm wagging my tail at you right now." She was indeed wagging her tail at me in my imagination. Or, actually, in the factual part of my mind.
She continued, "And, for your question, it's like a telephone, Honey. You basically need some numbers to get you connected with the person you want to talk to. Well, we do it not by numbers, but by images. In our world, it's called mind link."
"Wow, cool!" I exclaimed while brushing some strands of hair that fall on my eye. But, then, I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "But, you never met them before."
"That's why I asked you to sketch them, Honey, so I could check them on your contact list," she answered softly.
Was this technology or what?
"Contact list?" I asked in confusion. Actually, this new insights would get my mind blown up in just about seconds.
She nodded her head. "Yup. It's like yellow pages where you store all your pack members' names along with their numbers on it. Well, in our case, images."
I nodded my head, silently recalling the memory when my teacher explained the technology developed by human, such as telephone along with a book of numbers called yellow pages.
I could not deny that I freaked out inside by learning this wolf thing. Sure I was dying inside in the past to have a wolf, but the amount of information being slammed to my brain rapidly was overwhelming for me who did not know the basic of being a werewolf. Did this feeling always happen to the newbies?
Or does this feeling only happen because there's no one to guide me?
"You know, you're not the only one who's confused right now," Selena suddenly said, breaking my train of thoughts to pieces. "I'm actually in a state of adapting to the fact that I can't run all the time. Well, precisely, use my whole body, like four feet and a tail."
