"You should eat, Cupcake. You're still weak and need some energy." The familiar deep and husky voice that I fell in love before and now still tried to lure me to eat. It had been an hour, but his determination of making me eat was still there, lacing in his worry tone. But, I only gave several nos for every temptation as a response, still feeling weird that I could not see my own meal.

He could feed me with baked squirrel and mashed potatoes, and I still thought that it would be a smoked lamb and mashed potatoes.

Although I lived almost half of my life in half darkness, the pitch-black space surrounding me right now was still an alien thing. It was as if seeing a night without stars, a black hole that sucked every light and happiness from my life. So dark. Now, what I could stare at was nothingness that stared back at me and those voices that, thankfully, were familiar for now.

I think I'm still dreaming.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, Cupcake," the deep voice said after a long, quiet moment. "Please."

The sad and tired tone lacing in his voice ignited a guilty feeling inside of me. The weird sensation of realizing that he was right and that I was a fool was nearly making me succumb to his wish.

"What's that?" My voice sounded more hoarse than what I expected to be. It was like I had been living on cigarettes my whole life.

"What's'what'?" His voice was full of confusion, although, in the deepest part of my mind that was responsible for my wild imagination, I could see the smile lingering in his face.

He's always like that. When we were young.

"The food."

"Oh, it's your favorite. My Mom's spaghetti and meatballs." The imaginary smile seemed so real right now, lacing in his voice. "I remember when we were kids, you always begged my Mom to make one everytime you won our staring contest. You rarely won one, so my Mom was always so happy to make you one when you miraculously won." He chuckled softly, slowly bringing me to those beautiful days. The sound of myself crying when he cheated by making funny faces at me lulled me to the beautiful memories. "You also used to say that my Mom made the most delicious spaghetti and meatballs on earth. And, she would always end up in tears. And, you both would cry together, and that made me and my Dad confuse."

I could feel the corners of my mouth being lifted up by an unconscious feel inside of me.

He suddenly laughed so angelically that I thought he was a part of the angel choirs from heaven and that my ears were blessed. "Whenever you and my Mom cried together, my Dad always looked like he was going to pee in his pants if he did not go out from the house right away. Well, you guys have lungs made of steel." I finally let out a set of laughs as I could not bear it anymore. Those days were pretty funny. "And, he would always run to Garreth and made a commotion in the training. You should've seen the faces of those pack warriors! Their strong Alpha, who could beat any rogues entering their territory, was running away from his own mate."
