"I'm so glad for you, Darling!" A pair of soft lips pecked me on the cheek for a thousand times now, while warmth arms were busy choking me with a tight hug—Luna Ellie's signature hug as a symbol of happiness, longing, love, and endearment. "That hard-headed, snobby kid must be punished sometimes, but well, I'm so glad you don't choose to make him suffer more. I can't bear his whines anymore."

Bertha's booming laughter immediately resonated in the room, successfully making me chuckle in harmony. "That's true!" A hand patted my back. "I can whack your ass, boy! I don't care if you're gonna be the Alpha! You hurt my girl again, and you can kiss your ass goodbye!"

I shook my head. "Bertha, please don't."

"Oh, girl! I'm not smacking his butt right now. But, when he hurts you again, I will!"

"No, I won't hurt her anymore!" Killian's deep voice came from my left side. "Please, Mom, she's terrifying!"

"She's right, son." Another deep, booming voice came from far away. I could already tell this was Alpha Mason. His powerful aura, mixed with the gagging smell of iodine, already suffocated my well-being. "I'll join you, Bertha."

"Dad!" Killian whined. I could imagine his cute pout on his face, like a disappointed little puppy.

A clap was heard before I could hear Alpha Mason's deep sigh. "It's the least I could do, son. You broke her heart once. Moon Goddess will not give you another chance if you screw up your second chance." He sighed again. "That's even worse than having your ass whacked by all of us."

As if being electrocuted, the person on my left side immediately hugged me so tight. The warmth burnt my skin, making me sigh in pleasure. The addicting smell of my mate caressed my lungs gently, lulling them to calmness. A soft pair of lips attacked my neck, and a sharp nose nuzzled it tenderly like it was made from fragile material. "Of course I won't throw away this chance."

A lot of things suddenly flew inside my stomach. He could be so sweet if he wanted to.

He's always that sweet.

"I hope so, son. A mate is gonna make you a lot stronger. So—even with her condition—Heidi is not a burden for you."

"He's right, Killian. Moon Goddess pairs us with some considerations. You guys complete each other perfectly." Luna Ellie's soft tone brought some peace and closure to my chest, helping me to remember that it was all with reasons. "The roads may be rocky at first, but the amazing thing happens at the end of the road."

A kiss was placed on my temple, and all butterflies immediately went crazy inside my stomach. Scratch that, I had a zoo full of animals under my belly button. "We have passed the rocky road, Cupcake. It's time to have our amazing thing," Killian murmured in my ear and blew it softly. The sensation of spiders crawling slowly inside my ear immediately attacked me.
