I mentally screamed my lungs out seeing the chaotic morning we had. The kids were running here and there only in panties, babbling about how their socks were stolen by a gang of boogeymen in the middle of the night.

I was starting to think how easy the life of a kid was. The big problem they had was how to match the sock in their hands with its corresponding partner which had traveled to the underworld of their bedrooms. That was pretty much it. And, if they found the matching work was a hard thing to do, they would roll on the floor, crying for the adults to help them. Voila! They had matching socks.

If only I could do the same to Moon Goddess to ask for another mate.

I inwardly banged my head on the wall repeatedly, scolding my mind for supporting my heart to vote for being a damsel in distress forever. I could not even be realistic for a moment and forget about my so-called ex-mate for the sake of my peace.

But, then again, Nana used to say that when you could not forget someone so easily, it actually meant that 'that' someone always called your name somewhere there.

Could it be Killian always call my name, too?

"Argh!" I cried frustratingly, finally releasing my inner intention to bang my head on the yellow kitchen wall.

A hand tugged at my frock harshly, pulling my attention from mentally murdering my long-term memory. I looked down and noticed a pair of hazel eyes staring at me hopefully. The brunette forelock hooded her mesmerizing doe eyes, flickering innocence as she gripped my frock even tighter.

I composed myself and bent down to her level, brushing my fingertips to her chubby, freckled cheek. "What's wrong, Honey?"

She showed me a pink striped sock. "Sock?"

"Your sock is missing, too, Honey?"

She gave me a toothless grin and nodded eagerly, bouncing her curly locks on her shoulder. My heart warmed instantly at the sight of such innocence. I grabbed her little hand, intertwining it with my hand in a tight lock.

"Come on, Honey!" I pulled her with me. "Let's hunt your other sock!"

She giggled lightly while jumping happily, enjoying our little game of hunting sock. We made our way through the mess of kids who was singing something about the missing socks and my friends who were patiently cooing them. I gave them an encouraging smile, telling them that they were just temporarily upset.

Kids.

A sudden light tap on my shoulder instantly made me release my hold on the little girl's hand. She clapped her hands while jumping to the kids' bedroom, leaving me alone. I turned my head and saw Pam grinning at me widely.

I lifted the corners of my lips to meet her grin. "Good... morning... Pam..." I greeted slowly, making sure she could catch what I was saying.

She stared at my lips, reading them carefully like a kid read his book for the first time. She nodded repeatedly, embracing me in her tight hug. "U... mo... i."
