"They were so kind to me. They helped me with most days and nights when I would just stare blankly at the space, thinking about him." My heart clenched under my chest recalling those days. "Even though, I can't fully stop thinking about him."
Luna Ellie sighed while pulling the blanket to cover my neck to down. She lied beside me with her sparkling eyes due to pools of tears. "I'm so sorry, my child. It never even crossed my mind that he would do something like that." The tears finally were running swiftly on her cheeks, wetting their way down her lips. "I'm still giving him silent treatment... Well, Mason did ask why I'm giving silent treatment to my own son, but I guess, he knows the reason."
I thought she asked him to tell Alpha Mason to rush me here.
I gulped the bile in my throat, and sniffed loudly. "So, Alpha Mason knows?"
"I guess so." She closed her eyes, but the tension was still written on her face. "But, I swear, I didn't tell anyone as per Bertha's little outburst to not to spread it. Even him." A small smile appeared on her face, but soon it disappeared again as she opened her eyes slowly, staring at me in sadness. "It's a bond thing, Darling. A mate bond makes you able to feel your mate's feeling—deepest feeling to be exact." She put her hand on my left shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Maybe, that's why Mason kinda knows about my off-tune nowadays."
Mate bond?
"It's a strong bond between you and your mate that enables you to know your mate's deepest feeling, and even, it will affect your feeling, too." I closed my eye, letting Selena's voice fill my head. "However, to reach such state, a mate bond should be completed first."
I raised one of my eyebrows in confusion. What do you mean by 'completed'?
"Yup. By having sex."
I immediately opened my eye in reflex, as if the my eye socket electrocuted my left eye crazily. My mouth was widely opened to suck more air to my lungs just like a fish in a deserted land. Two balls of heat filled my cheeks while my eye focused on Luna Ellie's face, which was pretty startled with two wide eyes and a mouth agape.
"What's wrong, Darling? You're scaring me."
I gave her a sheepish smile like a kid who was caught stealing a cookie in a cookie jar. "Nothing, Luna. My wolf just said a bad word."
"What? It's not even a bad word! It's something you and Killian should do in the future! For the sake of me and my mate whom I don't know his name!" Selena immediately yelled as if her tail was on fire.
I mentally rolled my eye hearing her sudden outburst. Two flames were probably still visible on my cheeks by seeing Luna Ellie's wide grin that could split her face in an instant.
"I knew it! You're having a dirty picture, right?" She wiggled her perfectly arched eyebrows playfully. Her hand which was still on my shoulder squeezed it tightly, leaving me wince in pain.
