The sensation of orange juice flowing down my throat could not make me calm at all. I gulped the remaining orange fluid in my glass and slammed the glass on the kitchen table. The toast that I had prepared remained untouched on the counter since the clock decided to show that I was late. Great.
Ignoring my grumbling stomach, I yelled, "Nana, I should go now. Bye! Love you!"
Only silence answered my goodbye.
I rode my bicycle crazily without even sparing any glances around. Usually, I liked to see how the world was in the morning. The woods would just be silence as usual, enchanting people with the idea of what was inside it. Some shouts echoed in the air, coming from some houses. Some pups rode bicycle to their school, racing with me and we ended up laughing along the road.
Unfortunately, the happiness only stayed on the road. Once I stepped my feet on high school area, it was like all my happiness vanished into thin air, leaving me with some heavy dust in my lung called problems.
I never really liked high school. Believe me when I said it gave me more social problems to be worried rather than math problems. I would rather work my butt off on how to find "x" in the oh-so-long algebraic expressions rather than to work my butt off in finding friendly expressions in my so-called ex-best friend.
Yup. Ex-best friend. Killian Ace Beauregard.
I was not the one who invented the word "ex" in our relationship. But, it seemed he was really glad to be my guest and wrote his name down in history. I never understood why someone would want to break a tight bond with someone else who had been by his side and seen multitude of his ups and downs. Was what we had gone through not enough to maintain, or even strengthen the bond? Sometimes, world and reality could be so evil.
Oh, Nana in heaven, I am sorry for sulking and whining today. But, the almighty Killian Beauregard is such a wicked wizard!
Today was no different. The corridor floor looked so mesmerizing today that I could not take my eye off it. The chattering sounds seemed to fade away as I was staring hard at the floor. When finally something appeared in front of my eye, I barely looked up and saw my green locker standing so dull as ever. I took my journal and was about to close my locker door when suddenly I felt the presence of someone on my left.
Of course. Killian.
And of course, he stood next to me not to say 'Hi!' or even took a glance at me. But, rather I was blessed with the fact that the almighty Killian had his locker next to me.
Even though I was being sarcastic when it came to him, I found myself contemplating on the same matter everyday: whether to greet him or not. The reason was that I could not bring myself to hate him although he had broken his promise and left me alone. Maybe, it was since Nana always taught me to be forgiving and never be drown in hatred. 'Always be kind, Butterfly. At the end, you will find honey and a little bit of magic!'
Okay, Heidi. Calm down. Take a deep breath. You just need to face him and say 'Hi!' with a full-blown smile. Be kind.
I took a deep breath and closed my locker door softly. I turned to him and gave him my biggest smile, "Hi, Killy!"
And, ladies and gentleman, the almighty Killian Ace Beauregard responded me by slamming his locker door and went away, never looking back. Just like usual. Great.

Hello, sweet peaches!
There you go! The first chapter! Yaaay!
Poor Heidi! She was left by her best friend! Hmmm, what would be the cause? Maybe the following chapters will answer this question. So, stay tuned, sweet peaches!
Question of the chapter: Do you have an "ex"-best friend? How do you feel about him or her being your ex-best friend?
And now! *drum rolls*
TRIVIA of the story!!
The name "Killian Ace Beauregard" is not made randomly. "Killian" is Irish in origin, meaning "battle" or "strife". "Ace" comes from Latin 'asa', which was later adapted to English as 'Ace'. "Ace" means "the best one". And, finally, "Beauregard" is from French which means "beautiful look". Hmm... and this collaboration represents our Killian, peaches.
Oh! And that's our Killian in the picture, peaches. Gorgeous, right?
Shout out to Charlie Puth with his "We Don't Talk Anymore"! Love him so much! ❤❤❤
