A new horror movie was just released into theaters, one that I was rather eager to view. I mean, it wasn't anything special of course; just the typical group of teenagers go into a vacant cabin and one by one get brutally slaughtered by some psychotic killer.
But horror movies make me feel something. You know, the pumping adrenaline feeling, where you have a deep pit in your stomach as you await the next scene. Since I've been sober for quite some time, I couldn't rely on alcohol to give me that similar rush. I've taken the horror movie route now, so I guess you could say I'm proud of myself.
I will admit, however, I didn't appreciate the uncomfortable stares in my direction, as I sat in the back row, sipping on my slurpy. It's as if a man sitting in a theater alone was the most uncommon sight to human kind; maybe they thought I was so ridiculously attractive that it was nearly impossible for me to be single on this quiet Friday evening.
It's one of the first times in three years, where I've went on a solo date, not needing any company or your fragile hand to hold. Also, not to be rude, but you've never been the "take to a movie" kind of girl. You would sit beside me, munch popcorn loudly in my ear and make constant comments about the movie. Taking you to the movies was basically a waste of twenty dollars, but I did it anyway, because I was a great boyfriend. You may never see it throughout your entire lifetime now, but I genuinely worshiped you. You were the royal ruler and I was the kingdom, and you had no problem destroying me with all your power into a shambled mess.
Oh, Dani, you would've really loved this movie, though. There's this whole scene where the serial killer rips out the heart of an innocent man and squishes it all over the cement floor with one final stomp. Ha, just made me think of you.
