Seraphina's POV:

As I suspected, Mia was on the pitch like many others, practising for the Quidditch tryouts. "Hey Mia."

"Hey." She came down to the ground.

"You practising?"

"Duh, what else would I be doing."

I laughed. "Is there any chance you would be studying instead?"

"You know that I love Quidditch more."

"Yeah, I do."

"You going to join me?"

I bit my lip. "I don't know..."

"Please? Pretty please? Patronus please?"

I frowned. "What's a patronus?"

"Just ignore it, please join me?"

I sighed. "Okay... I'll go get my broom."

"Yay!"

I grudgingly went back to the Hufflepuff common room and grabbed my broom from under my bed. I looked at the Dragione 1000 before rushing to Mia again. She gasped. "It's amazing... Can I touch it?"

"Umm... Ok?" She ditched her Pyro-broom and stroked mine. "Not gonna lie, this is a bit weird."

"Sorry, I just....." she looked at the Dragione again. "Wow."

"Right, So," I tried to shake the weirdness off. "Are we gonna practise or what?"

"Yep! Can you practise as a chaser for me?"

"Sure. I'll start with the quaffle, Yeah?"

"Okay, 3 2 1 Go!" I zoomed into the air and towards the goal behind Mia, but before I could get far, Mia attacked me from the side and snatched the quaffle out of my hands. I swivelled around and started to race her to my goal. I quickly caught up to her and raced along side her as we approached my goal. She positioned herself to throw and as soon as the ball left her hands, I swooped in front of her and caught it, before going back to the other goal and scoring.

"Wow! That broom is fast."

"It sure is."

"You're defiantly gonna get the seeker position for Hufflepuff."

"And you're defiantly gonna get Chaser for Ravenclaw." She smiled. "With a little practise of course." I jokingly added.

"Hey! I was Okay, Okay?! You're just too fast."

I giggled. "Come on! It may be a Saturday, but we have a pop quiz for charms on Monday and we have to study."

"How do you even know that? I thought Pop quizzes were meant to be surprises."

"They are. But Professor Kettlepot kindly gave me a heads up."

"No fair! Just because you're her favourite student and in her house, doesn't mean she can do that! It's unfair on the rest of us!"

"At least I told you. Now, are you coming or what?"

"I'm coming, I can't afford to fail another test again. My mother will go crazy!"

"Your mother? It's my mother that's obsessed with grades." I remarked, making Mia give a little shrug.

"True. But seriously, have you seen my grades! Even I agree I need to improve them."

"What are you getting?"

"'A's"

"But that's Acceptable! A pass!"

"According to my mother, not so much."

"Then let's hit the books!" I raised my hand in a triumphant way and half-marched to the library. Mia followed behind muttering to herself how it would be much easier if she could use the internet.

-

Four hours. We had been studying for four hours. Even I thought we needed a break. "Mia I'm serious! -And hungry!"

"I'm not done though! This will only get me my usual A!"

"No it will not! Now come on!" She opened her mouth to protest. "Don't you dare talk back to me when I'm hungry." Mia closed her mouth, looking afraid.

As I walked out of the library, pulling Mia behind me, my shoulder crashed into someone else's. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" I looked up and met the eyes of a Hufflepuff girl in the year above. "Hey Caroline, I'm sorry I was just in a rush to get the great hall for food." I was expecting her to say it was okay and stuff like that (she's the nicest person I know), but instead she glared at me before hissing like a cat and walking away.

Mia looked just as confused as I was. "What was that?"

"I don't know... Usually Caroline's really nice." I shrugged it off and carried on tugging Mia to the great hall.
