Charlene's POV

I had just got back from muggle school and was walking down the hallway to my charms class when I saw Potter, I mean Seraphina, walking somewhere with a teacher. I only saw a glimpse of her but something seemed off. I didn't think about it much. After all, she's one of Derek's friends, and let's be real, they'll get me nowhere. They're all Hufflepuff losers, except for Granger Weasley, who's the definition of clingy. If you've ever taken one glance of her hanging around Seraphina you'd be able to tell. No matter though. They're not my friends. I've always got... I stopped. No one. Ebony's gone and I'm all alone.

I brushed off the thought and entered the classroom. I sat in my seat, at the back, and took out my textbooks. It seems a little quiet, even with everyone talking. I doodled a bit on my textbook. I never really had even drawn before as my mother had always claimed it was a bad habit, so it was a bit wonky. I guess I just can't draw.

" Charlene. " Miss Kettlepot, our teacher, said. " Are you paying attention? "

" Umm, y-yes ma'am. " I stuttered. She looked at me with a confused glance.

" You seem a little out of character dear. Do you need me to take you to the nurse? " She asked. I nodded, unwilling to argue. " OK. Class, try to be quiet. I'll be back in a minute. " As she escorted me out of the room I could feel everyone looking at me.

" Are you OK, dear? You're not acting like your usual self. " She said. She looked a bit worried.

" Umm... " I said. Merlin, Charlene, get a grip. Be your usual self, remember. Be cold, think think.. " Snow. "

She looked at me, more confused then ever. " What? "

" N-nothing! " I said. Why isn't my brain working properly?!

She sighed. " Listen hun, I've heard about what Scorpius has been through. His wife left him, his son is missing and his daughter's always been distant. You're all he has left. I know it's hard for you since Cartness is missing, but you've got to be there for your dad. " She said. We went down a flight of stairs. I tried to avoid looking at her face.

" I know you won't want to talk about it with me, being a teacher and in Hufflepuff no less, but do talk to your father. He isn't doing very well. He's become practically unreachable. " She said. We went down another flight. I still didn't look at her. This was the level the hospital wing was on, but she turned and went down a few more flights, all in complete silence.

" This is where the Slytherin common room is, I presume. " She said. " I'm going to give you the day off to sort yourself out. You're going to have lessons tomorrow though. "

" Ok.. " I said.

" Right.. goodbye. " She said, hurrying off. I told the password to the painting and walked in. I had another day to myself.
