Seraphina's POV:

"Are you sure?"

"Dead sure. This was definitely the same as the markings on the trees."

Mia took the paper out of my hands and started turning it around. "What do you think it's of? I can't make it out."

I took the paper back and traced each area as I explained it. "Well this, I think, is some sort of eye. And coming out of it a windings round it, is a... Snake? I think?"

"These boys certainly won't win any art contests." Mia said, rolling her eyes. "Wait." She looked at me. "Why aren't we giving this to a teacher and telling them everything we know? We are only second years."

I thought about it for a moment. She was right, but, I don't know what it was but I just really thought we shouldn't include them.

"They'll probably just think its nothing."

We heard someone open the door.

"I should probably get going, I have a feeling your fellow Ravenclaws will not take well to you letting me in here."

"Well, It's not like you've never been in here before."

I stood up and began making my way out of the Ravenclaw Common room unseen.

"Hey, is there any chance you could let me into the Huf-"

"Nope. No one but Hufflepuffs have ever been in our room, that's for over a thousand years. And frankly, I don't want to be the one that breaks the streak."

I quickly opened the door and made my way down the winding stairs, making sure that no one saw me.

"Miss Potter."

I stopped packing my books away and glanced up at the teacher standing in front of me, Professor McGonagall.

"Yes, Professor?"

"You're friends with Derek Malfoy, correct?"

"Yes.." I said this a little hesitantly, guessing what was coming.

"Do you happen to know why he has decided to skip all of my classes and every other class for that matter, over the last week? Is he sick? And if so, why hasn't he gone to Mrs. Promfrey?"

"Umm..." What do I say?! "He..." Think. Think! Think!! "I actually haven't seen him lately, but I promise that when I do see him next, I won't let him do anything until he's caught up with all the classes he's missed."

The Headmistress frowned. "You haven't seen him?"

I bit the inside of my cheek. "No, miss. I haven't."

"Hmm... You may go to you're next lesson. I'll send a message to...?"

"Professor Malfoy."

"-To tell him why you're late."

"Thank you." I carried on packing my stuff up as McGonagall walked out of the room, sending an enchanted paper down the corridor, while muttering to her self. "That's the sixth this week... I-"

I stopped listening in and instead, I made my way down the stairs and to the Potion's classroom.

-------------

I snatched hold of the snitch and held it up in the air.

"Okay!" Ludis, captain of Hufflepuff Quidditch team, shouted from the goals as he was keeper as well. "Seraphina caught the snitch! If that had been a real game, we would have earned 30 points. You caught it very fast." He said, speaking the last line to me. Everyone was on the ground now, we were standing in a semi-circle with our brooms in our hands. "Now listen up! Our first match is in a week on saturday. Our first match will be against Ravenclaw. I know that some of them are your friends." He looked at me. "But we all need to do our best, okay?" We nodded. "Now go and get some rest!"

I gladly obliged, and as soon as I had reached my dorm, I flopped onto the bed and fell asleep.
