Chapter 13

Seraphina's POV:

"Did you get it?!" Mia bounded over to me, just coming from her tryouts.

"Yeah, I did. What about you?"

"I got chaser!"

"Welldone! But I knew you would get it anyways."

Mia sat down next to me and started to eat the food. (We're in the great hall). "So no hard feelings when Ravenclaw beat Hufflepuff, yeah?"

"No, because it will be Hufflepuff that beats Ravenclaw."

"No it won't! Have you seen our seeker?!"

"Have you seen me? And our keeper is good. As well as our chasers and beaters! Our whole team is good!"

"Well so is ours! Even better than yours!"

"Well I guess we'll see when we go head to head."

"I guess we will."

We sat there is silence for a moment before bursting out laughing. At that moment letters started to drop from the sky.

I looked up to see owls of all sorts, delivering letters from family members to the students of Hogwart's. I even spotted mine.

The snowy white owl dropped down beside me, a letter cluched in her beak.

"Hey Diamond. Had a long journey?"

My owl bobbed it's head as I stroked it.

"Then I'll give you a long rest before returning you with a letter. Okay?"

Diamond let go of the letter and flew off, presumably to the Owlery.

I picked the letter up and opened the seal.

Hello Seraphina,

How are you? Is everything okay? Your sister Issela has been very sad since you and Katherine left for Hogwarts again. She's kept begging me to let her go with you.

And how is school? Are you doing okay? What about your grades? If you get any that are lower than an O or E, you are in deep trouble. Even an A for Acceptable is not good enough.

Anyway, I hope you and your sister are having fun! Bye x

I then turned the paper over to see my dad's hand writing.

Did you get into the quidditch team?! I heard that tryouts were this week!

Hufflepuff is going to win with you as their seeker!

Did you know that Katherine decided to tryout for Chaser for Ravenclaw?!

Anyway, love you and listen to your mother.

I lent over to Mia. "Who wrote to you?"

"My dad, mom and aunt. I'm guessing that they sent a similar message to Johnathon. Did you know that he's Ravenclaw's keeper?"

"Nope. Umm... Is Katherine a chaser?"

"Yeah! She's like, seriously good! Did your dad teach her or something?"

"He did."

"Did he teach you?! Is that why you're so good as well?"

"No, I taught myself. Dad was too busy teaching Katherine to help me. Besides, he's not a very good seeker."

"Oh... You haven't talked to her in a while, have you?"

"Not really."

I finished eating. "Hey, have you seen Derek in a while?"

"Nope. I haven't seen him since he had that talk with Charlene ."

"But that was a couple days ago." I said, now quite worried.

"Do you think he's okay?!"

"I don't know. I haven't seen him in the commonroom for a while."

"Yeah, and he wasn't here for Potions on Friday."

"So we haven't seen him for two days. And I share a house with him. And we're best friends."

"Something's up."

Mia finished her food too. "Come on. Let's go search the castle. Besides, I wanted to leave sooner because my fellow Ravenclaws are looking at me wierdly for not sitting with them."

I turned around to see that Mia had been speaking the truth.

"Come on then. Let's go find a friend."
