Seraphina's POV:
"We're here!" I shout and start my descent. I landed in one of the main streets, outside of Honeydukes and the Post Office. Mia, Charlene and Jasper followed suit and landed beside me. I did a sweep of the street and saw nobody. "That's weird..." I murmured and stepped off of the school broom. As I did so, Charlene almost threw my Dragione broom at me. I clumsily caught it and positioned it under my arm with the school one. "Where is everyone?" At my words, they all frowned and looked around. "They can't all be inside."
"I dunno. Do you think the wizard came here as well?" Mia asked.
"Maybe... Let's be careful, just in case." Jasper said, on high alert. I cautiously stepped towards Honeydukes and looked inside. There was no one there. "Oh, no." Jasper said from behind me. I glanced at him briefly to see that he was doing the same as me, but he was looking through Zonko's window.
"There's no one here." Charlene stated, looking through another window.
"There's no owls either." Mia said. I turned my head and saw her opening the door to the Post Office and looking inside. "How are we going to send a message?" She asked, turning back to us.
"I don't know." I said.
What are we supposed to do?
"We should... Umm... Stock up on food and stuff? While we wait for people to get us? -We'll still pay, if anyone brought any money with them." Jasper suggests.
"Sounds good." Charlene says and strides into the empty Honeydukes. Mia shrugs and follows suit. Jasper walks down a couple shops and enters a different cafe.
I shrug as well and start walking down the street, naming shops as I walked past them.
Zonkos... Gladrags... Scrivenshaft's...
At Scrivenshaft's, I turned a corner, seeing an old bookshop, as well as the Hog's Head. The bookshop was painted a dark green that had faded over the years and hadn't been repainted. The sign over the door was so old, I could only make out a couple letters. 'C_ _ _ _ _ _N_ C_RE_'. Intrigued, I pushed the rotting door open and stepped inside.
The inside was just as under kept as the outside, but had a rotting smell to go with it. I held my nose to block it out and stepped in further. The walls were lined with shelves and shelves of antique books. I walked up to the nearest shelf and picked out a book. Running my hand down the spine to wipe off dust, I looked at the name. "Huius atrocitas." I read aloud.
I wonder what this is about..
I opened the heavy book and flicked through the opening pages, stopping on what looks like the Contents page.
Caput I - Mors Huius atrocitas
Caput II - Mutatio Huius atrocitas
Caput III - Huius atrocitas Deformatio
Caput IV - temere aliquid Huius atrocitas
Caput V - Ceterisque pestibus
Caput VI - Malum Huius atrocitas
Caput VII - Huius atrocitas Uncurable
Caput VIII - Rare Huius atrocitas"It's in Latin. Should've known." I flicked through the rest of the book, and was met with scaring images of different types of deaths, transformations and Magic.
Are these... Curses?
Maybe the Curse the Dark Wizard cast is in here!I quickly closed the book and walked out of the shop to join the others.
