Seraphina's POV:

The Aurors carried another body out of the forest. We gave them the cure. Another body, another, another. So many. Some familiar, some that I'd never layed eyes on before. But no one I was hoping to see. Katherine, Elia, Kyla, Derek.

Let them be next.

Fourth year, sixth year, teacher, prefect, head girl, fifth year, head boy. One after one, they emerged knock out by the Aurors. Bit by bit, I became more and more anxious.

Let them be next.

I waited and waited. Hoping and hoping. And then... "Katherine." I shot up and ran towards the limp body in the Auror's arms. I half hugged her as she was carried towards the cauldron. I pushed strands of chocolate coloured hair out of her face as they placed her on the floor, tears fresh on my face. I wrapped my arms around her as they left to go get another. I only moved out of the way when Mia lent over to give her the cure. And then they took her away, into the now guarded castle. Away from me.

Three more were cured. Another one. Another two. A ravenclaw, gryffindor, ravenclaw, slytherin, hufflepuff. Another two. I wiped the tears away, knowing they would come back soon. Then a boy with dark skin and hair was pulled out of the forest.

"Amaro." Mia said it so quietly, it was surprising I even heard it.

She quickly poured the potion into his open mouth. He was taken away. Two more were removed from the woods and I rushed forwards once more, Mia following me this time. Mia did the same as I had done with Katherine and pushed her brother's hair out of his pale face. I turned to the other person, Elia Moonstone. My roommate.

I hurriedly poured the potion down both of their throats and let non-aurors from the Ministry pick them up again and move them to the Castle, where everyone that had been cured previously was headed now that they were awake. Still I waited.

Jasper had gone inside a while ago with one of his friends, leaving just Mia and I to wait.

Let him be next. Please.

An Auror emerged from the trees.

The body's too small.

He was holding a small, black haired, first year slytherin girl.

I know her.

He layed her on the grass and Mia poured the potion into the small girl's mouth like she had everyone else. "Do you know her name?" The words escaped my wondering mind and entered the air.

"No. I don't." Mia replied, and the girl that had seen me playing the piano, the mysterious, creepy girl who had laughed in the weirdest way, was taken away just like everyone else.

My eyes followed her body as it was taken away, and I couldn't help but notice her eyelids flickering open and looking around, before closing shut like they had been before.

"Derek!" Mia's voice shouted in happiness as she took off once more.

I breathed in and out, fast. And then it sank in. "Derek.." I twisted around and ran the remaining yards between us, pushing Mia out of the way to give him a hug.

Mia quickly filled a vial up with the potion and dropped it into his mouth. He was taken away, like everyone else, and I followed after him.

Everyone I care about is safe.
