Charlene's POV

I went straight into Honeydukes. We do need food after all. I grabbed a bag from behind the bag and began to pour all the things I could find into a bag.

" Char, what are you doing? " Jasper asked me, who had oddly been behind me for a while, judging from the fact that I hadn't heard him enter.

" Getting food. " I replied. " You can't steal abandoned stuff, it's just taking. Besides, I didn't even think to get any money. "

" Isn't it a bit, I dunno, unhealthy? " He said.

" You've only been around that Potter girl two seconds yet you're already acting just like her. " I said. " You wanna eat this or starve? "

" Geez, you're getting a bit worked up. " He said.

" Stop. " I said.

" Stop what? " He asked.

" Acting like Derek. It's stupid. " I said. " You've only known me for what? A few days? "

" A week. " He said.

" Exactly. You're already acting like my older brother. " I said.

" I just want you to be safe is all. " He said. " Do I need to make it official? "

I raised an eyebrow at him. " Make what official? "

" I, Jasper the knight, pledge my allegiance to thy Ice queen Charlene. " He said, waving his arms dramatically. " I shall protect thou from thy evil.. Umm, food! Vanquish the sweets! You shall not hurt my queen today! "

I burst out laughing.

" Was that better, my queen? " He said.

I smiled. " Much, much better. " I said. " But we still need food. "

" Follow me! " Jasper said, as dramatically as before. He got on his broom and gestured for me to get on the back of it, to which I complied.

" Off, my noble steed, to the bakery! " He said. With that, I dropped that bag of sweets and we sped off.

Mia's POV

" They've gone mad. " I muttered, watching Jasper and Charlene whiz off into some other shop while riding an airborne broomstick. I saw Seraphina going out of some old shop with a book tucked under her arm.

" What did I miss? " She said.

" Nothing really. What've you got there? " I said, looking at the book.

" This might be able to help us! It's got all these curses, and one of them might be the one that the dark wizard was using! " She said. " It's all in Latin though. "

" I think Scrivenshaft's should have a dictionary. Let's go look there, leave the crazy ones next door. " I said.

" Huh? " She said.

" Oh, nothing. Let's go. " I said.

After a bit of scouring, we managed to find an English to Latin dictionary. Sera sat down and began translating.

" I think I found something! " Sera yelled after around ten minutes.

" What is it? " I asked.

" It was in Chapter eight, rare curses. It mentioned brainwashing. I looked further and I came across something that's exactly like what's happening right now! " She said.

" Anddd? " I said.

" Hold on! " She said, flicking through her dictionary.

" They never found out what caused it, although they think it could have been a spell. " She said.

" We know that! Now what's the antidote? " I said.

" Don't rush me! " She said, looking back to her dictionary.

" We've got to make a potion. It's pretty complicated, but all the ingredients should be here. " She said. " Are you good at potions? "

" I'm pretty good if I don't say so myself. " I said.

" Good, because you're definitely better than me. " She said. " Now let's get to it. "
