The Darker Side Of The Moon
Book 4 of The Black Moon series
Chapter 25: Unexpected DecisionGary's POV – Wednesday 26 August 2015
"It's okay, Baby... Just let it go..." I whisper to Jeremy as he bursts into sobs, trying to tighten my hold around him and to keep it loose enough not to hurt his bruised body.
I'm not sure it was a great idea to make him speak about what he experienced over the last few weeks, but I know how Tony needs the information to liaise with the police and the private detective to accelerate the research of Andrei. We can't let that bastard escape! Not after all the horrors he has inflicted to Jeremy, Noah and that boy Timmy. He needs to pay for his crimes!
Weirdly enough, I don't even know what I would love to see become of him. Nothing seems strong enough to punish him for what he did.
A death sentence? Damn, that would be too easy. Just a few minutes of pain, if at all, and he would be over with it. It doesn't sound hard enough to me.
Sometimes, I wish I could kill him with my own two hands, torture him slowly and painfully, but I'm not sure it would soothe the slightest bit of revenge urges I have against him. I would like to see him get caught, that's for sure. Make sure that he never hurts anyone again.
That he never ever approaches my love again...
Sadly, I don't think he will ever pay enough to be forgiven. This is just impossible. Whatever happens to him in the future, I just hope he will suffer. Agonizingly.
But in order to catch him, we needed some information from Jeremy. Anything he may have heard could help. We always thought Andrei was headed south because it was apparently his plan from what Noah had told the police. At least until Chris committed suicide and rushed everything.
Canada is an option the police has barely started to consider after his brother was arrested in Seattle and about to take a flight to this country, but they haven't had enough time to dig that way. Jeremy thinks Andrei left the cabin about a couple of weeks ago, but is he still there? Has he already moved to another country? It might be a possibility since he must have heard of Jeremy's escape from the guard.
Honestly, I don't know what to think.
All I know is that my love is here, safe and I don't intend to let go of him ever again. Whatever it takes, he won't ever leave my side again, even if I pass off for an excessive and overprotective lover. In the meantime, I wish he would just calm down and rest.
His sobs and the sudden tension in his body are ripping me apart, as if he wants to run away from me. Not that I would let him, but I feel so helpless right now, unable to soothe his sorrow. So I keep trying to comfort him with caresses and encouraging words until his body goes lax.
"Gary...," Tony suddenly whispers with firmness. "I think he's sleeping. Lay him back, he needs rest. And we need to talk."
Sometimes, I think Tony would make a fabulous Dominant. He has this natural authoritative aura, this confidence and a huge self-control which are fundamental to be a good Dom. He would even make a fantastic Master Dom actually, because his willpower is so huge that big guys like Joshua or even Aaron would cower before an order from the man. I guess he holds it from his past activity as a bodyguard and an ex-military. Of course, we would never see him at the Black Diamond since he's straight, but having met his adorable wife Liz a few times, I doubt it would work in any case. The small woman has such a temper!
Anyway, that's not the subject matter, but as a result, I gently and carefully lean Jeremy back against the pillow, making sure that he is comfortable enough. The drugs helping, my sweet love has finally fallen asleep indeed and he needs rest now. Besides, like Tony said, there are things we need to discuss urgently. He has been furiously typing on his smartphone ever since Jeremy stopped talking, but I guess we need to check what the next steps are.
