Chapter 11: Falling

JOAQUIN'S POV

Naisipan kong mag-jogging to clear my head of thoughts of her. Margaux was my childhood sweetheart. Like any other children, I also have one. She was my confidante. When my mom left me at a very young age, she was there to cheer me up. Her smiles and laughs became my strength in a life that I don't thorough understand.

Whenever I envy other children having their parents beside them and thinking life was so unfair to me, she will suddenly show up with her funny face and funny jokes. And just like that, I had survived the years without them. I had survived almost everything because Margaux was with me.

I had considered her as my bestfriend until this child feeling grown into something different. I just found myself already head over heels in love with her. At first I had tried to hide it until such time I can't anymore. I confessed my love for her and luckily she accepted it. I was the luckiest guy at that time. I was 12 then but already madly inlove with his bestfriend.

We were so young, yes, but we're madly in love with each other. She became my world, my light and my everything. We even plan our future together and I was looking forward to that. Until one day everything changed. It change so fast that I don't even have the chance to cope up.

She broke up with me. She said she doesn't love me anymore. She said she wanted more in her life. She said she was young and she wanted to see more of the world. But little did she know, I knew she was in love with other man.

That was three years ago, I was 15 then. But the pain of her leaving me still haunts me. At ngayon nga nagbalik na siya. Pinaghandaan ko to eh! Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na hindi na ko maaapektuhan ng presensiya niya. But damn! Bakit iba ang nangyari?

"Fuck!" Frustration started kicking in again. Kulang na lang sabunutan ko buhok ko sa nararamdaman ko ngayon. WTF!!

"Hoy! Ezekiel!" Pagkarinig ko pa lang sa second name ko ay bumuhos na agad ang inis sa akin. I hate it when they call me with it!

I saw Andrei leaning against his expensive car. Anong ginagawa ng mokong na 'to dito?

"Pinakulam ka na ba ni Luna kaya nababaliw ka na d'yan?" Natatawang tanong nito.

"What are you doing here this early, Hernandez?" Tanong ko rito imbes na sagutin ang nakakagago niyang tanong.

"Looking for Anya, ano pa ba?"

"Speaking of her, why didn't you tell me that she's the daughter of DGC?" Halos maningkit ang mata ko sa pagkakasabi non.

"Ah hindi mo ba alam?" At tila napapaisip pa na sabi nito. "Naunahan ka pa pala nila KD at Gav." Kibit-balikat na sagot niya. WTF! So ako na lang pala ang walang alam?!

"You tell them without telling me?"

"I didn't. Sadyang huli ka lang lagi sa balita." Muntik ko na tuloy siyang mabatukan sa sagot niya.

"And for goodness sake Quino! Na sayo ang file ni Anya. Kaya napakaimposibleng hindi mo malaman." Dagdag pa nito sa sagot niya. Damn! Lumalabas talagang kaya wala akong alam dahil sa kawalang pakialam ko. Tsk!

"So tell me, where's my dearest cousin?" Tanong na naman nito.

"Hindi ako tanungan nang nawawala." Pabalang na sagot ko at nagsimula nang humakbang papasok ng mansion.

"Gago! Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit di siya nakauwi kahapon. So asan na nga siya?"

"Hindi ko alam okay?! Bakit di ka pumasok sa loob at hanapin mo."
