7 - Rehersals?

"I'm home." I finished as I held Chris's hand. I looked out into where the audience would be as Chris stroked my knuckles. I looked at our hands, then up at him smiling, before taking a few steps backwards and around him and finally walked to the back of the room before going off what would be upstage left, before the brick wall. After Lin cut the bands backing track, I ran and jumped into Chris's arms. "We did it." I called as he lifted me up and spun me around.

I had learnt my parts of the songs in the weeks before Chris joined me, we spent Monday and Tuesday singing all the songs together then started choreographing on Wednesday. It was now Friday and we had completed 'Benny's dispatch' and just finished 'when you're home.'

"You pick things up really fast Mandy. We'll be done by the end of Friday next week I expect." Andy told me.

"I guess it helps that Chris and I can practice at home. We go through all our choreography in the living room. Doug loves to watch and it stops him sitting at the TV for hours on end." I say smiling up at Chris as he wraps his arm around my waist.

"Yeah. He loves it. So I can safely say that your choreography Andy gets my kids approval." Chris says kissing my forehead. I lean on his shoulder as he wraps both arms round my front, squeezing and shaking me like he does with Douglas all the time.

"Stop it Chris." I giggle as I try to break free from his grasp. He stops shaking me and just holds me to him. "That's better." I say holding his arms around my stomach.

I know that the next song for us to learn is 'Sunrise'. This one I'm more worried for as we kiss at the end. It's only a small kiss, it's not like the more passionate one in 'blackout.' Just before we pull apart to go over the vocals one more time before adding the choreography Andy speaks. "You two, just stay like that for a second." He turns to Tommy as I look up and to the side at Chris as he stands behind me with his arms around me. "Lin, Tommy, what do you think of Benny and Nina standing like this as they sing the chorus together. Mandy can turn and lean on the railing after she says 'perhaps I do', then Chris can put his hands on her hips and slowly bring them in front of her as he asks the questions of kiss me and hold me." Lin and Tommy look up from their folders.

"That's cute." Tommy says. I giggle a little at Tommy calling Chris and I cute.

"Were you kids like that before?" Lin questions looking at Chris with a little smirk. I instantly know that he's referencing us being a couple.

"Yes we were. And no Lin, we are just two friends."

"Two best friend." I say as I pull myself out of Chris's hold. Lin glanced at us and murmured something neither us could hear. The two of us grabbed our scripts and headed to the piano. We sang though the song, gazing into each other's eyes the entire time. I felt little fireworks go of in my heart. I just wished he felt the same way.
