'Hey Mandy, I know I didn't message you back earlier but I didn't expect quite so much to come out of what I wrote about you and Chris. I do still think you are idiots, but yeah, you're together and nothing can probably stop that. I know you probably don't really care about it anymore but I wanted to explain why I broke up with you in the first place and why I wrote what I did. I don't particularly want to do this over Twitter and I noticed you have a new phone, so I was wondering if you would be happy to meet up with me at some point. I was thinking we could head out to lunch on Monday as that's you're off day. Please respond. Adam xx.'

I looked at my phone, contemplating whether or not to go. He'd taken seven months to reply. Chris and I had been together for over a year and it had been over two years since he dumped me. I didn't know what he wanted, but eventually made the decision to go.

'Okay, not lunch, just a morning coffee and a few conditions. There had better not be an article about this after. Not even a tweet. I'm not telling Chris I'm meeting you. If I want to get up and leave at any point, I can. And why are you sending 'xx' after your name?'

I reluctantly sent it then walked into the kitchen to find Chris. "Hey boo."

"Hey princesa. You okay?" He rested his hands on my shoulders.

"Yeah, I'm good. I just wanted to let you know I'm having a morning coffee date with the girls on Monday, so I'll drop Dougy off and go straight there. I'll be back by lunch, then it's just us."

"Oh, Okay. I was going in for extra rehearsals with Lin anyway at tenish. Maybe we could head out for lunch afterwards."

"I'd like that." I wrap my arms around his back, going under his arms. I lean against his chest and close my eyes. "I love you. You are the best boyfriend in the world and I could ask for anyone other than you Chris."

"And I couldn't ask for anyone other than you Mandy. I can't wait to see where our future goes together." I hear my phone go off. I pull apart from our embrace and kiss Chris quickly. I then head back into the bedroom and pull my phone out again.

'Okay fine. 9:30 at that café you used to work at, o the corner of 45th and Broadway? And I send 'xx' to everyone. It's just habit after I sign my name, sorry.'

'Okay, 9:30. I have to be at the theatre for 11. I want to watch Chris in rehearsals before he takes me out on a lunch date.'

'See you then.' I put my phone away without replying. I couldn't tell anyone that I was meeting him. I headed out to Chris and we just had a usual Friday schedule.
