27 - My Mom and Dad?

"Doug we need to go now." Chris finally said after he had played with his trains for over an hour. We were going out for lunch with my parents so they could meet Chris and Doug. Then the three of them had to get ready for the opening as Chris and I headed to the theatre to get ready. We had managed to persuade our producers to let Doug come and watch. He'd sat through full rehearsals, silent as a mouse and had watched the show with Tommy and Andy before. We knew he would be fine and wouldn't make a peep. He may fall asleep due to it being later than his usual bedtime, but then he would still be quiet.

The three of us got ready to go and then headed out to lunch to meet my parents. I was so excited to see them. I hadn't seen them since Adam had dumped me, since I wasn't living anywhere they couldn't really come. We walked down to the restaurant and sat at our table. I sat next to Doug, Chris sat diagonally opposite me and I knew that my mom would want to sit next to Doug and I my dad next to Chris. We ordered drinks for the three of us then waited for my parents. "They are always late. I don't know how? Probably got a bit side tracked sight seeing knowing them. My mom texted me saying they had landed at 8 this morning so who knows."

"Don't worry my moms always late for everything as well, but I told her she had to be on time for today otherwise we'd miss her due to our call time."

I giggled. "Yeah, Nana is always late!" Doug said looking up at me. I giggled as I heard someone call my name.

"Mom!" I nearly yelled from excitement. I jumped out of my chair and ran into her arms. "I missed you so much mami."

"I missed you too mija. How's everything, you excited for tonight?"

I pulled back from her hold. "So excited. I don't think I've ever been so excited in my life. This is a once in a life time experience." I then turned to my dad and gave him a big hug. "I missed you so much papa."

"I missed you too princesa." He kissed my forehead. "Now I hear you've found yourself a new guy."

"More like he found me." I giggled and walked them over to the table. Chris was already standing, ready to meet my parents. He had a big smile on his face and I knew everything would be okay. "Mami, papa. This is my boyfriend Chris, Chris this is my mom and dad, Robin and Paul, as you all already know." Chris shook both my parents hands.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both finally. Mandy's been telling me so much about you and it's nice to finally meet my girlfriends parents."

"It's nice to meet you too Chris." My mom said. I sat down and lifted Doug onto my lap.

"And this is Chris's son Douglas but we both call him Doug for short. He's four and a half, and I love his so much" I squeezed him slightly and said, "this is my mom and dad, Robin and Paul."

"Hello." He said and waved at them both.

"Hello Doug, it's nice to meet you." My mom said smiling.

"And you." He seemed a little shy, but I half expected that, he was like that whenever he met someone new. I kissed the top of Doug's head and smiled.

"Anyway sit down guys and pick what you want to eat." Chris sat in his original seat and my mom sat next to me.

"Robin, let Mandy, Chris and Doug sit together."

"Dad it's alright. Chris was sat there before. I would have thought you wanted it to be more mixed up."

"No, you two sit together. We have a few questions we want to ask, just to get to know you a bit more." My mom said standing.

"Oh okay." Chris and my mom swapped places. I put Doug back on the bench and Chris kissed my temple. I simply smiled at him.
